had my 2005 fireblade a month bike riding lovely done 140 miles on sunday took bike to have a alarm fitted Monday had bike back came to use it sataday battery flat took bike back to shop they fitted a new alarm then went out on bike again broke down again charged battery used bike again and broke down again took it back again now they are telling me that it is not the alarm it is the rectifier stater phoned Honda they are saying that the rectifier is 250 pounds and the stater is 600 pounds Honda have the same view as me the bike was fine until they put the alarm on what do you think
I'd go back to the alarm people as they are the ones who have knackered your bike somehow as before you went all was fine
To much of a coincidence that it happened after you got the alarm fitted Tbh only time I pay anything towards an alarm is getting it removed ! But if it helps with insurance I understand, I got a quote with and without I would of saved £1 lol not worth £300 for an alarm then
I had a problem with my battery getting flat in my RR5. All because of Datatool 21 Alarm System fitted (since new apparently, masochist previous owners). It sucked. So with some tools I fixed it yesterday... The best mod to my RR5 so far.
Sorry to here the hassle your having dude. Sounds like a bit of a coincidence, especially both going faulty at once (although one can fcuk the other) There's ways of checking them both, do you have a multi meter? If they are actually faulty look up David Silver- stator aroun £100, think the rectifier's slightly less.
took bike to have it checked out turns out its not the alarm its the stator gonna cost me 420 to have done just seems funny that I just had alarm fitted and the stator packs up
It is a common problem on those bikes. How many miles has it done? It could have even gone before you bought it, if you have only done 140 miles on it before the alarm was fitted, a charged battery would just about get you that far.
