I went to the Eifel area of Germany for a long weekend, got back on Tuesday. It was a last minute decision, I decided on Friday evening and managed to get a eurotunnel slot. It was my 3rd time in the Eifel, I never get bored with the area. No long report, just pictures this time. I went away for 4 days and stayed in Neuerburg at the Schloss Hotel. Weather was great until Tuesday where it rained for the entire 5 hour ride back to Calais. Hey ho. I went there to be on my own and chill out, which I did. It was a bit of 'me' time as 2014 has been a bit of a rough year for me. The roads were awesome as usual and I also saw a few interesting things along the way:
25109 Glad you finally got away on that trip Rob, brought back some fantastic memories of my trip earlier in the year. I recognise Cochem so posted street view on a very very hot Bank Holiday Monday in June this year.
Thanks Steve, that picture is exactly how I remember Cochem. I really want to visit the area again next year I am already in the planning stage
Great part of the world. I've been there a number of times, and having missed a Euro trip this year, a group of us have already booked a week next July. Can't wait !
Great pics - its a really cracking part of Germany, I was down in Wiesbaden , near Frankfurt last weekend and wish I had gone on bike but I flew (did not need bike there anyway) - I may go back next summer and ride over. Its just a shame from Manchester its that much more of a trek - I wish the overnight boat from Hull sailed later so you could go after work rather than 17:00 sail time which means half day off work to use it to avoid the boring ride down the uk etc.
Rob great pics.. one that made me laugh was no matter how many times I got to continental Europe, they just havent caught on to how us Brits like a "fat boy" breakfast.. this yoghurts and jam and cold meat just doesn't cut it after a few beers hahaha.. well done on the trip! PS - love the bike!
Nice one fella no need for a report the pictures speak for themselves.Trouble is i'm pineing for 2015 season to start now got a feeling its gonna be a long winter!
The zeebrugge check in closes at five Alblade, but the rotterdam is open till seven, if we can't get time off work we use that boat instead, and if you're heading to that part of Europe it's pretty much the same distance from either port.
That's Urzig next to the Mosel. Apparently there's a huge Harley festival held there every year. Shame.
