I've currently got an RR-C and I am considering swapping to an RR-E. Has anyone had both? Just interested in how they compare. Do the engine changes make any difference to the bike? Are the changes to position of footpegs / bars noticeable (I wouldn't want it any less comfortable!) Thanks, Ian.
I'd have thought a Test Ride would be rather easy to arrange at this time of year and a deal to be had to boot!
I had a 12 Blade, and now have a 14 Blade, cant say I notice much difference in peg or bar position once you are underway. Same with the engine, but the three improvements I noticed are: 1. The new one does not hunt anywhere near as much as the 12 after its started when warm. After filling up with petrol for example. 2. The key is much more robust, its shorted and thicker, so a lot stronger 3. The clutch no longer does that little movement thing when changing gear. HTH
Definitely agree with the test ride theory! my 2011 fuelling was really bad, hunting and awkward a low revs but the Anniversary model I now have i.e. 2012 is phenomenal, can't see how it could be better. So I reckon its not year but bike specific...IMO!
Gone from '12 to SP, the '12 used to hunt when warm as described earlier, the SP seems better. Footpeg position is only 1cm, I actually prefer it. The wider bars were noticeable but it does slightly help the maneuverability of the bike. AS for power, I have noticed a difference at the track. The blade seemed a little quicker down the straight, but it may also have something to do with the fact that I'm cornering 10-20Kph faster pretty much everywhere than on the 2012 (could be those Supercorsa tyres). Cheers
My 14 plate compared my old 10 plate ABS is an absolute revelation, so far every time I have pulled on the brake lever its started to slow down...what more can you ask for? So non hunting engines, wider bars, higher pegs, better clocks etc are great, but nothing beats stopping when you want to.
Thanks for all the replies. I've bought a non ABS 2014 HRC but not had chance to ride it yet. Hopefully I will get out on it this weekend
