Hi guys, I've got a little CBR600 which I intend to put a new Dunlop Sportsmart on the front. Was thinking about having a bash at balancing and fitting it myself. I'm a main thence fitter, so making a balancer shouldn't be too much of a problem. I see you can buy protectors and levers for £10 and weights for the same amount.

Just wondering how difficult it it to get the tyre off without scratching/damaging the wheel.

    Thoughts appreciated
P.S I know it's not blade related, but you seem a sensible lot on here...

They come up on eBay, mine is a Probike M500

    http://www.probike.co.uk/it020003.htm

    they do deals!

You will never loose money on it and never go back to hand changes. Plus don't mark rims!

Hey, long time lurker new to join and post. Changing tires, yeah just put a new set of pilot 3's on today. I manually broke the tire beads by placing the tire on a rubber mat and using a wood stud ie 2x4 lodged under one of the tires on my auto and used the sidewall of the tire to be removed as my fulcrum. This broke the bead and I removed the tire with the appropriate irons. About 30 minutes to change the tire. Yes I'm from across the pond and yes I do a lot of things I shouldn't do, but anything to save some quid.

Like I say on the other thread, I use to do the same, section of 4x2 (2x4 for you US guys haha) cut to a point, hammered into bead, two levers, job done. It's what ever works for you. :) They are easy once the bead is broken. Ride MX bikes from the start, you soon learn changing a tyre is just part of riding your bike. :)
