Why are you taking the whole rear panel off?
Just undue the original and replace with the new one?
I never did remove that much when I did mine

Getting the rear seat unit cowl out was tricky ... Is there a knack to it? Worried will break it!

It's fairly flexible so don't worry, alot easier than fitting a carbon one ;)

after you find out what you need to do it's easy once you know. I've had the tail apart a few times for various things and can pretty much strip the back in under 20 mins. But it's only as I've done it 3-4 times now. track fairing. rear lights, different tail lights etc....

As for my Evo tail tidy it was about a hour to put in. splice wires etc... but I did not need to open up the back end like you mate

I bet it is ... It's just being new I'm worried about breaking or damaging anything ... :( looks like I've already cracked the plastic directly under the key barrel for the pillion seat unless it is supposed to be there? Getting that seat unit off makes me nervous... As you have to bend it over the subframe which is daft.

Loosen off the nuts that hold the seat lock in place makes it easier to line up then tighten back up

There shouldn't be a crack in it mate, when I replaced the rear pegs I was a bit nervous of the rear cowling, but believe me it's more flexible than it looks I just undid the 4 bolts, unclip both sides push slightly back and carefully ease one side out over the subframe, no cracks or splits ;)
