Hello all - my first visit to the forum I am servicing and doing some small repairs to a mates cbr 1000 F Hurican. I just lifted the fuel tank and from under the R/H middle of the tank there is a thin very flexible rubber pipe that was not connected to anything. Could someone tell me where it should connect please. I also have a chain sprocket set to fit . Is this for the drive sprocket just remove what looks like the clutch release and housing and a drive cable? I assume the clear tank with a level on it on the R/H side is the coolant expansion tank. As this will suck and blow as the coolant expands I was expecting to see a pipe from the kneck on the inside but although a stub it has nothing Is this correct? Regards Ken
Welcome to the forum, it's worth saying hello in the new members section what year is the bike and do you have a photo of the bits you mention, rubber pipe sounds like the overflow from the tank
Furl tank, sprocket, Sorry for jumping straight in. Just eager to make progress. I will attempt to add a picture. Could be a breather but needed to be sure . The bike is 1994 Regards Ken
Gota be a wind up this surely? A Guy comes on saying he's about to service a mates bike and aint got a Scooby what an overflow pipe is or a Coolant expansion Tank?? Glad it aint my Bike!
Don't be an idiot all your life. Read what I asked. Should the expansion tank have a pipe from its cap going inside. No big deal ,on most other vehicles there would be one but this don't. Is that simple question too much for you . An unconnected tank pipe. What's so strange about that. Just requires a simple answer if you know! Every forum has one like you that tries to stand out by being an idiot. Ken
Thank you Womblewizard for taking the trouble to insert this. That does look like my pipe but it's not the tank end that not connected just about 9" hanging from the tank. Regards Ken
The other end isn't attached to anything that I can remember just tucked away through the frame think it came out near front sprocket!
