Just come back from visiting Andy and Marion and there's a Grit fest going on .Take it easy in the Morning if you are out and about early doors.
Just had news from Gilesy that it is frosting up at home too! Its a truly tropical (for this place.....) 2 degrees at the most northern point of Britain right now.
Yep, let the winter of discontent begin. Riding back towards the west coast with the low sun this afternoon was challenging to say the least, let alone the threat of ice on the roads too.
I'll be using the bike tomorrow for work... A barmy 5 deg in the morning... Warming up towards the end of the week too.
Yep sun was lethal this afternoon and to top it all got covered in grit by passing gritting lorry. And yes Giv the salt mines are about a mile from where we live and they have enough road salt to last the next ten years !,, I've seen the salt pile !!
Well I have been waiting for it to get a bit colder as I am still wearing my leathers and summer gloves. It gives me a chance to use my heated clothing which I never used last year!! I might even give it a clean.
Yep, spent 2 hours cleaning mine on Sunday and it looks like that today, still much better to ride it, than just watch the pounds fall off it depreciating in a warm garage.
Love seeing sportsbikes looking like that. So used to seeing them polished to within an inch of their life that this makes a refreshing change. If I were you though I'd make sure I had a good coat of acf50, and I'd probably invest in a hugger too.
Got to disagree with you there dude!! I think they look horrendous and un cared for like that! I guess I am the sort of bloke I would love to buy a bike off. But each to their own
Ha, don't get me wrong, I don't think I'd sleep well if my bike was parked up in the garage looking like that! Hence why it's refreshing to see it.....like when you see that fellas R1 he road round the world, they just look cool dirty!
Well we had the second frost of the year but not seen any girders. Not saying we have not had them but when you think we are in Dec and this thread only just popping it. thats some good going
Try sticking on 400 miles a week in this weather and keep it looking like a garage queen....take my hat off to the guy that can pull that trick off. They are not uncared for just a little dirty, rather like a good women should be. They are just depreciating lumps of metal and plastic no matter how they are used, better to stuff miles on them and get some value out of them. Plenty of salt down this morning in my neck of the woods.
Im with you on this one i ride 300 miles a week, and its impossible to keep it clean. I spend half a day every weekend cleaning it, then come monday morning its covered with winter road grime.
