Get ready for a flurry of replies I did this year. I put track fairings on and rode it on the road like that too while between track bikes. Now I own a track and road Blade.
Yep, same fairings for road and track, but then again they are only Chinese ones so reasonably cheap to replace.
Mines an OE repsol 09 and I use it road and track with the view that if I bin it, it will become a track bike, I hope I don't though.....can't afford a track and road bike ATM. Andy B
Yeah I put a cheap Chinese faring on mine so that I can use on track and road I did keep swapping from road fairing to track fairing, but it got a bit of pain with all the track days, so just keep the same Chinese one on now (my Avatar)
Done a good few trackdays on original pearl white fairings, then Chinese set till I mashed them up on the road, then done some more track days with its current set of genuine original black. Have a set of track fairings for it I got off someone on here but not fitted them - not used my Blade on track since Feb as have a track bike (The Fridge) http://vimeo.com/44296091 Back in the day as a Rothmans replica - at 6mins 20 I actually get my knee down - a minor miracle for me!
And a bit of Donny action: review on Vimeo (this was a good day!) No more vids to add (just now anyway)
Yes I track mine as Does Denzil. I have track fairing but it needs a respray. I have used track fairing and the OE fairing on track check out the track day board as you will find loads use their's on track
See I had road, got high sided and brought more oem ones .... Debating whether worth track fairings or not http://youtu.be/9A5ThxdguJA
Damn, the back seemed to let go there when you shut off the gas mid corner, possibly making the back light? Fairing wise, my vote is on track fairings. It doesn't have to be expensive if it's just to save your road stuff, but it's a ball ache swapping everything over, that's why I left mine all year with track fairings on and others have gone the Chinese route.
After some encouragement from my mates who do lots of track days, I did my first track day on my 10 month old blade around brands hatch. I wasn't the most experienced rider at all, and after seeing two other riders take a tumble on the last session, it started to sink in what could have happened to my shiny new pride and joy. I know everyone says theyre designed to be ridden on track etc, but when you see some of the non- fault incidents folks have posted on here, I think I'd want a dedicated track bike I could afford to lose knowing my roadbike was safe in the garage for next weekend!
Yeah hit a puddle as come of accelerator ... Yeah I use the blade every day for work so can't leave track fairings on .... Have to keep changing which will be a pain lol
I had owned by blade one week when mine Happened lol ! Went from 600rr to blade then week later brands hatch ! And it was clearways that got me
Wasn't such a clearway after all, boom boom Shit can happen like 1000rr73 says, you can get caught u in someone else's incident. You've got a few options if you're set on using your road bike. You can commute on track fairings, daytime MOT style, or buy another set of road fairings whether they are Chinese or just odd second hand panels to save your main ones.
I've used all my road bikes on track, this blade will be no exception to that rule. I run fast group and on whatever tyres it happens to have on at the time, preference is Supercorsas though!
I put a number plate and a stop light on my track fairings for summer that way it was 2 numberplate bolts and I was ready to hit the road or track . But as soon as the nights started coming in fast I put the road fairings back on until next years track time
