Hi Martin, good to see you dropped in. Hope yours is going well. SP : Yes, great bike. But I'll be well happy with a standard blade and I'm probably not a good enough rider to appreciate the difference. Exhaust : Well it's the MCN Show in a few weeks and I was hoping RaceFit would be there......... Got to be another RaceFit. Exactly the same as here (This is my old blade in the video) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HZuIejxVSEc
Motorcycle ABS compulsory from 2016 - Motorcycle news : General news - Visordown http://therideadvice.com/abs-motorcycles-vs-non-abs-motorcycles-need-motorcycle-abs/
ABS without doubt gives you an advantage if you grab your brakes in a moment of panic. But if it spoils your enjoyment for all the other times your riding, then why would you have it.
I had a 13 plate ABS but have recently swapped to a 2014 Non ABS. To be fair the ABS one was ok, but the inconsistent lever feel at slower speeds was a bit disconcerting (apparently a characteristic of the system?). I wanted a Non ABS so I can change the brake fluid myself. From what I can remember the ABS system needs a fluid change every 2 years and it is 5 hours labour (which at main Dealer rates will be around £400).
These are exactly the things that spoil the enjoyment of owning what is otherwise a great bike. I'm no youngster and have managed without ABS for many many years. But yes, you have to admit that it's something that does improve the safety of a bike and something that will be on all new bikes within a few years. But I want a bike I can enjoy and tinker with..........
Looking into the future, years after the introduction of compulsory ABS, when riders will state they cannot believe how riders ever rode without ABS...that's progress for you. Then they will meet some old grunts like us pulling up on classic bikes....like 2014 Blades non ABS, and marvel that we can brake in all conditions without dying.
LOL................. Brilliant, but probably very true How on earth did those old boy's ever ride on cross ply tyres...........
The first years of my road riding was done on cross plys ! First my RG500 then my FZR 600... All Cross plys and shite brakes ! I can tell you all about road rash mate, but it taught you to ride ! And as for the old boys, Im a very young 40, ill have you know
Well seeing as you seem to be the font of 'all' knowledge mate, I'll let you enlighten us all with your superior knowledge as all I've seen from your posts is that your better than anyone out there with your smarmy comments.
And even now, i won't thank you for ABS or an electronic assisted anything cheers ! Apart from maybe a quick shifter for shits and giggles
Ahhhhh memory lane, remember coming off the back of mates 250 Superdream, as he thought it would be good fun to attempt a 2 up wheelie and totally overcooked it, and we both ended up in a heap in the middle of the road, happy days
That's a strange response, it was a totally genuine question as to whether Honda are going to use Bosch ABS in the future. In fact, it's pretty idiotic and makes no sense. The sort of thing a small minded prick whose trying to get a reaction might post.
Dude, you've just lost your point and justified Col's with that second para. Other than winding Col up even more what are you hoping to achieve from it?
Genuine question my arse. All we seem to get from you in threads is snipes as folks comments. Surely you don't expect to go on like that and not have someone bite.
Hi Jim, yeh the standard BM is £13700 and the sport is £14760 and that comes with the DDC, gear shift pro thingy, LED indicators, pillion seat cover and heated grips of all things. But every time I see that exhaust though I just think hmmm, it is a bazooka of a thing. You picked up your Blade yet?
I think this is just in your mind tbh. Can you show me all these many snipes I keep making? I'll say again, my question to you was perfectly honest and I don't get why you would react that way.
