    Hi all,

i'm looking at buying a 2nd hand radiator which is located behind the stock radiator (where the fans normally sit).

Is that going to give the same cooling benefit as the 'extra' radiator that is normally mounted below the original radiator?

Here's a link with the two radiators from febur (i'm currently aiming at the 'evo' one)

    FEBUR

    thanks!

Am no racer but surely for racing you want to keep the weight of the bike down as possibly...

Adding an extra radiator with extra coolant would add extra weight for little, if not any performance gains??

    In principal yep 100%

But when youre 200bhp+ then youre generating extra heat and that needs to be controlled.

There was a rad for sale on motoforum (poss febur) not long ago might still be there

Surely some silicone hoses and better coolant be a better option

Only allowed to run water in racing as coolant is too slippy in a crash. Im no tuner or engine builder but im sure if it was that easy then race teams wouldnt spend 000's on rads

I would say it's going to provide good extra cooling even behind the stock rad. Perhaps not as much as a lower rad though..

If your bike isnt tuned then a large rad will make your engine run too cold. Wasting petrol and not ideal.

The thermostat keeps the engine at the set engine temp, you can get a Hrc thermostat which runs at a lower set temperature.
You can run a radiator behind another one as on car they do with AC and
    Oil coolers, not
Maybe not the most efficient way but if no space it's better than none if not enough cooler water available.

Nice larger Beur rad on EBay which someone kindly put a link to in the sale section.
