I just read u should take the air filter out while searching through Google. And when I got my bike it had a tiny bit of thin foam in it. My mates had none. Is this common big power mod ?
Having seen what was in my air box when arthur put my quickshifter on I wouldn't recommend not having a filter on the bike, can't be good all the dust and crap getting into the bike. Think it was alblade who had a dead bird in his
What a unthinkable thing to do!. If you have ever taken a Blade filter out you would understand how vital the filters are to your engine. The inlet to the filters is right at the front which drags in all the crap.If it is a power mod I think I would forsake the extra 1-3 bhs gain and would sleep better knowing my engine is protected with the filters firmly in place.
if you really want to thin things out get a HRC filter, they are basically a mesh, they will just about stop cats and dogs getting in your airbox, I bought 2 but due to the lack of filtration I didnt use them.
People take them out because a search on google tells them to take them out The same people would stick their left testicle in a vice if google told them too
For the sake of maybe 2bhp, I'd rather keep the filter in and know my engines healthy. Don't Remove It ! ! ! ! !
I Did this once.....it was a 1974 1.3 L escort that i just fitted a twin choke weber to, sounded ACE ! But this was the first and last time iv run anything without a filter, There for a reason mate !
I would NEVER run a bike without a filter I'll dig out the picture of the dead bird in the airbox - its pretty shocking when you open the airbox and find that sat there - it was all dried out luckily so no smell or guts lol
NEVER you may as well throw sand in your oil if i went t o buy a bike and found it had no air filter in it id turn on my heels and run
i took my BMC race filters out of my bike this year and put standard K&N ones back in. The airbox was like a sand pit after 3000 miles with those race filters.. for sale if anyone wants them! £120 new, £50
