I had a Q5 which was a dream to drive, mechanically & economically, but having 3 kids its was getting a bit cramped.

I now have a Range Rover Sport, totally different class from the Audi, amazing!.. End of review! LOL.

Looked at the Rangey Sports but tbh the specs are not as good as their bigger brother plus wanting a Diesel the Full Size Rangey tends to have the V8 3.6 litre diesel where as the Sport tends to have the underpowered 2.7 litre lump.

Can't afford to run the Super Charged Petrol no matter how cheap and tempting they are!

What ages are you looking at mate, know a few who have had the sports and issues with them after 3-5 years - mainly electrics

Ask jase as he will give you an insight into ownership.

Q7 is a big old bus, personally I'd get the range sport. Think they are awesome.

Yeah, going off the Audi quite quickly as it's Pig ugly and piss slow as only has a 230bhp 3.0 litre engine, plus most tend to have 7 seats and whilst U can fold em down they still take up valuable boot space which we do need.

Sine, what ever you do, don't get a 2.7 lump, they are the weaklink. The 3.0 diesels are robust and pick of the bunch.

Around the 5 year mark is where most issues occur, up until that it's mainly tyres and a few suspension components, which to be honest can be expected of a 3 ton love machine. I'd have the RRS over the vogue any day of the week ;)

Really like the look of the q7 but they are massive. Really long.

I like the Touareg (that's how U spell it) but the Wifey hates it!

I'd buy one over the other 2 as spec, performance and reliability is key for me, Chicks are different though!

My Chick unfortunately has posh mates and hangs round with her 'Cheshire Set' possey from Knutsford/Hale Barns/Wilmslow etc so has to be seen in the right vehicle!

Snobby Bitch and I tell her so regularly but hey ho!

Me and me 'grubby Bike fetish' as she calls it have repercussions and letting her have her Toys is one of them.

I'm sure some of her mates think I'm her 'bit of rough' !

One person at work had a Q7, ask your local Audi garage the labour rate to work on them as they are considered premium vehicles or similar.

They are also VERY long and VERY wide so a nightmare in car parks - more than a few times he had to climb in from boot to drivers seat as simply not possible to open the door to get in.

One cheap option but may have zero pose value is a Volvo XC90 (which is really just an S80 estate with a body job) or the XC60 perhaps - different image and while not flash they still look OK and are HUGE inside, rear most seats drop into floor very clever manner taking up less space

BMW X something no good ?

Well if it's the image bit, might as well do the Cayenne Turbo gig, that seems to be the weapon of choice on the school run around these parts

Got to agree on the reliability issue, 4x4s not my cup of tea, but my brother had a RR and Disco from new in the last few years and got very close and personal with the service dept. Binned em both when the warranty run out, nothing but trouble.
