Bit of a follow on to my last thread as no one had used the clip ons I had been looking at so I thought I would find out what clip ons people are using and feedback and look at those ?

SPS harris do a beautiful engineered clip on propa trick as the handle rotes a certain degree to suit your position and wrist
I recommend them not cheap but quality

He's a quote notice the double clamp unlike most single
The new Harris GP clip-on handlebars with adjustable tube position. The clamps are engineered from billet aluminium and now feature two securing bolts to spread clamping force and machined lightening windows to minimize weight. Utilizing our standard handlebar tube mounted into an eccentric sleeve, the user can rotate the bar to achieve any angle between 0 and 10 degrees.

Can they rotate the bar so the bike isn't upside down? :)

I just finished putting on Helibars on my '09 and did a small 20mins ride locally. I like the extra leverage and the reach to the bars is much better.

Need to do some more time riding to see the real result.

A well timed thread SPS, I am really having the same issue so will be watching this thread with interest.

I love the current riding position on my RR6 but I have very bad hand and wrist pain, even when I don't ride, so I need to try and ease the weight on them. Going really fast works but not so good on licence risk ;)

I bought a pair of Harris clip ons, the ones Graeme has but not fitted them. Just after I bought them a pair of Helibars came up on Ebay, so I bought them as well.

Having read loads of reviews on the Helibars I am still undecided because the the RR6 was designed to have a lot of weight over the front and some people say that when riding hard the Helibars make the front feel less well planted and that it is harder to tuck in with them. Some also complain it makes your elbows stick out and also can cause some shoulder pain.

The answer I suppose would be to try both and see which ones I like best but some feedback from others would be great. I know Sinewave uses Variobars whicjh have a lot of adjustment but I don't think they make them for the RR6.

I use Harris clipons. They are raised to the same height as standard and used by the old TT Legends team but use their own homemade bar and bar ends.

Sideways, have you noticed any problems with 'front wheel feel' with these or other handling issues ?

I'm starting to get to the stage where I could do with the bars a bit higher. At the moment I think it will be Helibar like the ones Sideways has above.

Front wheel feel was weird to start with, felt like the forks were 5" longer. But now after 6 months of them on I've grown to not notice it anymore.Being short they fit me better cos I'm not reaching down so far.I ride on the road 95% so they had to be put on.

Gilles Variobars offer the maximum angle adjustment and a 40mm rise but come at a high cost.

Pic 3 shows the stepped adjustments available from a steep Race angle to nigh on a Flat bar angle.

Did the 40mm raise stop any back/wrist ache?

Not sure as I had them fitted by the Dealer on a new bike so not actually ridden a Blade with standard bars!

But on Tour with a max of 350 miles I had no probs with back or wrists, was more my legs tbh but I am 6' and the Blades pegs are quite high so no real surprises there really.

Whatever bar risers you buy lads. You will find it feels like a completely different bike. Initially it feels like you're on a touring bike but with everything in power and handling:D Less stress on shoulders back n wrists. My right wrist used to ache due to an old injury. All these creaky feelings are gone now.
When you have been on it a while you will find that your body positioning changes too.Mine is hanging off easier because the bars are higher and easier to reach. Before I was craning myself trying to get my head past the mirrors climbing all over the tank because I didn't quite have the reach. All this work has now gone, its a pleasure riding what is a great all round bike.A worthy investment if you are an acher like me;)

haha I've been thinking the same for a while too! MOT on tuesday and after a 30 mile rip, came back to the house and the right wrist felt like I'd been through 10 rounds of boxing.. just got to get back used to it again I guess..
