Just finished a few winter bits of servicing, getting bike ready for spring, and first after I have no speedo.

Standard dash on an '08 Blade. Dash is illuminated as usual, rev counter, temp etc all working.

Things done that may be the culprit:

Power Commander 3 installed (disturbed wiring?)
Rear wheel off for new tyre - is speed sensor on rear wheel?

    Any ideas guys?

I'm sure i've had this, you will have missed re-connecting the speed sensor which provides signal to dash from gearbox final drive to front sprocket

I'll try and remember where it is. DOn't panic over it

Thanks for the pics, I'll take a look.

Really annoying though, bike all cleaned and serviced, feeling a little smug - then realise somethings wrong!

So more likely electrical connector rather than wheel sensor.

There is no wheel sensor - its driven from the speed sensor on the back of the gearbox as per that second picture - its a pretty quick check.

Tank shroud off, hinge tank up and double check connector is fully plugged home

Test it with tank resting down before you bolt it all back up and put the cover back on

Right, haven't looked at the bike yet, but think I've done something silly. Not paying attention and assuming the connectors would only go one way, I think I've plugged the power commander TPS plug into the speedo sensor plug! Doh!

If it is the plug that Al is pointing you to, it is only a 10 min job, lift the tank back on its hinge and you should be able to see it.

    Good luck.
