yea,they are made by Holroyd.middle of the road warmers,work very well for a cheap price,but if you have any issues,they have a 1st rate aftersales care.
I've had mine for 2-3 years and they are still good. I'd go for the elastic ones over the drawstrings type, they are frustrating.
Funny this has been brought up as I just bought some "Chicken Hawk Tyre Warmers"weird name I know . I have been using Uber tyre warmers the last 2.5 years approx and noticed last week at Oulton mine seemed Luke warm compared to other tyres warmers that were on other bikes never really took must notice before how hot they were getting just would feel them and feel they were warm and thought nothing of it. After watching an interesting video about a lad who raced who said he had been struggling with really bad tyre wear(same as me) and had tried all sorts of suspension changes (same as me) with no improvement (same as me) it turned out it was his tyre warmers just weren't getting hot enough and he got new warmers and it sorted his tyre wear problem out so am hoping this helps my problem out as it would certainly explain my "cold tear Type wear" as I ruled that out as my tyres were on warmers and we're getting warm but I never checked how hot they were getting as most tyre warmers should get up to 80c My tyre wear at Oulton last week wasn't to bad but that was probably down to cold track temp and I wasn't giving it a fistfull on the corners. How many actually check that there warmers are as good now as they were when they bought them ,so maybe one to check in future they reckon the tyres should be pretty much up to race temp once they come of the warmers ,you can get a tool to check the temps of the tyres so might invest in one as be good to check how hot they are getting . So don't always go for the cheapest warmers as if they aren't heating the tyre properly it could cost you a lot in damaged tyres as they might heat the surface ok but not the core of the tyre which would result in "cold tear"
Have you tried your warmers yet? I want to get rid of my drawstring type warmers and will be on the look out for some on pay day.
Not yet should arrive tommorow so will try at oulton Friday/Sat I know sinewave has the MotoGP ones with digital display which with our discount from DT are about £190 and they seemed a very good Warmer The uber ones have been good and for the price you can't complain as I have used them a lot but will certainly pay more attention and check how hot the warmers are actually getting on the über ones they have a green light indicating there up to temp I was getting this at Oulton last week but they were no where near as hot as they should of been . The Chicken Hawk ones do have very good reviews but aren't the cheapest but at £170 a rear tyre I wanted to get decent warmers so could rule out crap tyre warmers if I still get bad tyre wear .
I use diamond and hsve had no issues. Had some biktek ones on at oulton last year but the rear set on fire when I had that zx10.. Think my bike would of gone up in smoke if it wasnt for Andy noticing and unplugging them whilst I was stuffing my fat face
I've been using cap-it warmers for about 8yrs now,they are the spot on but not cheap. there is an issue with some warmers catching fire quite frequently,i'll go see if I can find them so you know which to avoid
Biketek-stay away from these.seen a set catch fire at Almeria a few yrs ago,and theres a few stories on the tinterweb (and pictures) of them catching fire.
Have you ever checked them to see if they still get as hot now as they were when you got them as bet many don't . Just bought one of these so will check them when your next out at Oulton
i check them all the time,this is where it pays to get better ones as the insulation on cheap warmers,aswell as the heating elements start to wear out.already got an infrared temp sensor
I've been using Holroyd for the last year and found them to be great Tyre warmers. Well worth the money and as said heard many good things about their after service but not needed to use them I would recommend them to anyone
Like the one's Scooby uses and may well get a set when the time comes even at the best part of £400 For those looking at spending under £200 then the MotoGP one's I currently use haven't put a foot wrong.
