I've just bought a pair of these, http://www.bikersgearuk.com/motorcycle-kevlar-cargo-jeans-ce-armoured Mainly because I've fancied trying some for a while for the odd jaunt 'round the block' (Bridge Motorcycles is three miles from me), and before I shell out big bucks on occasional use gear It's an easy toe dip. A friend put me onto them on the Saturday evening, so I had a look on the website, saw that they'd been 'reduced' from more than twice the price... Hmm, sledgehammer marketing psychology, methinks. Anyway, fifty quid, including postage... I'll have a go. Ordered it there and then and they arrived Royal Mail on Tuesday afternoon. Not bad so far... Fairly tough feeling material, good stitching and yes, the kevlar does indeed wrap around my important little places and right down to the shins. The price includes removable hip pads and knee pads. Plus, they threw in a pair of thinsulate 'winter gloves with the order. Now there's not much armour in them so I don't know whether I'd entrust my pinkies to them, but they are a bloody good pair of wandering around in the cold gloves for bugger all. Not rode in the trousers yet, but looking forward to trying them out. Are they worth the 'unreduced' price of £120? I doubt it, but the build quality feels as good as the RST ones I was looking at for that price with only knee armour. Of course, you can't tell the quality of the material just from the look and feel but I used to be in the textile business and these do seem to have been stitched together okay. I looked around the net for reviews and opinion does seem to be divided on the company itself, but for everyone who's had a ruck with them, there's somebody who's been happily buying from them for years. Their range doesn't look 'set the world on fire' great, but these trousers only need to do one thing and they. at least appear, like they should do it as well as a pair twice the price.
Nice review! I got the RST ones from a mate in the trade for £80. TBH I have only worn them 3 or 4 times as I like to wear leather on the bike but on the odd occasion when the bike has been out the front of the house and I've had to shoot up town for something I have worn them with my Alpinstar Dyno-T textile (second hand at £40) and have felt safer than I would in a hoodie and jeans (which is all one of my mates seems to ride in!!!).
Of course, we all like to wear leather... No... Just me... Okay then, but a year or so ago, I jumped on the bike in jeans, leather jacket and gloves to nip to the end of the village to fill up and I was surprised by how less my movement around the bike was restricted by not having my full leathers on. That's what got me wondering whether there was a comfier way of doing low speed, low mile commutes. They have armour to give me some protection from impact and at the speeds we're talking, their abrasion resistance should be sufficient. Plus, I spent that much on a mediocre meal in the pub last week...
The only thing that really bothers me about buying online is that measurements never seem to be consistent. Or possibly its my "shape" that changes overnight! lol Is the size as per your normal waist or do you need to go up a size on these?

I went for the 34" waist because up until the end of last year I was 34" but it's coming down now. The problem is, it's not come down to 32" yet and I expect to have a few layers tucked into them. So they're not tight, but no different to a pair of 501s I have. That being said, I have two pairs of 501s, exactly the same size, one of which fits and the other pair that I can take off now when they're done up, so if Levi can't be consistent...
I wear my HOOD jeans more than anything else, I really only wear leather now for track days. Been looking to replace them for a while !!
