Anyone got any tips for fitting them. I've done a couple of pairs in the past but always end up wrestling with them and end up with glue all over the bloody place I have heard of using hairspray? Anyone tried this??
Removing - Long thin screwdriver under existing grips and spray WD40 underneath them as you rotate the slide the screwdriver around the throttle body. . Fitting - As said hairspray is great as it lubes whilst fitting but dries tacky. Personally I have never used the supplied superglue. If you fit the datatool ones make sure you remove all the old glue from the plastic throttle body or they won't go on
Ahh right. I've always just cut the old ones off with a stanley. I'm fitting the Renthal Dual Compound ones.
if you have an air compreser it's very very easy.just stick the nozzle underneath the grip and blow air in,they just slip off, then put them on same way and secure with some lock wire
I use a grip spray ... it's clear and thin so no mess... Spray into grip, then slip it on the clip-on ... 30 second job.
I used hairspray on the last pair, Had no problems with them yet, Been on now for 2 years. We used to do the same on the 250 Kwak MX bike that we used to race.
Just done mine today, it was a doddle. Hardest part was getting bar ends off, I think I used to much loctite when I put them on
Never used anything on renthals. Stick the grips in boiling hot water for a minute or two then twist them on. When they cool they dont move a mm. Easy on.
