guys I'm 6ft 5inch tall with a long back and 33inch inseam so not too gangly, I cannot get seated so I feel connected to the bike, constantly feel like I am going off the back with the way my weight is distributed. Any ideas about lifting the riders seat or subframe by a couple of inches to shift weight forward?
Okay worked out its the seat placement that's the problem, the pegs and bars are in identical positions on the S1000RR but the pegs are in line with the front edge of the seat of the blade, and midway on the S1K. Hence I feel like I'm falling out the back when I open the throttle!
+1 Rear sets will move your legs back which will cant you forward in the seat preventing you from falling off the back. I had the same issue ... upgraded seat also helps as it will lift you slightly in the seat. The OE rearsets are simply too far forward in relation to seating position.
look up soupys performance in Google. I'm 6 ft 6 in tall and raised my Repsol ride height +1 in. Made a world of difference for me. All my bikes run soupys performance raising links. It's an adjustable dog bone that can be adjusted from -2 to +2 in ride height. If you order one make sure you email them and make sure they make it for a raising link. The order on website is just for lowering. But he custom makes the length if u want a raising link. You can adjust the hell out of the ride height with this. And their strong as the factory dogbone. Just a different length that they make so bike can be raised. Just a thought for you. It give you many possibilities and only takes minutes to adjust once on bike. Or you can go back to stock height if you find it to aggressive of a change or any adjust you feel comfortable with up to + 2.
yes it does. for me i found it actually more stable going into corners.i had my suspension setup and tuned after the height change and it seemed to feel a little better in the grip area on acceleration as the swingarm angle is obviously changed and more angled downward. but the swingarm pivot point is the same so nothing changed to drastic. They are Arashi rearsets.
I fitted footpeg lowerers off the Jaws Blackbird site, and had new seat cover made and fitted by Wijalis (ebay seller based in Poland). Probably around £100 in total. But if you think you could refoam your seat base at home and refit a cover yourself, they would make you raised cover much cheaper. I sent s/hand seat base, they did rest.
