Whats the reckoning on all you bar-room judges on here? If you posted a video on Youtube which may (or may not) be you riding , lets just say possibly outside the legal parameters set down in this fair (or not) country for driving standards, would there be much chance of a conviction or even being pursued for the offence in question by the boys in blue? This supposed video may not even include the registration or even the indicated speed at which the lawbreaker (possibly) was traveling at, thereby proof may not be possible anyway? I trust I have been justifiably vague in my request? Opinions please!
Well, in your video there doesn't seem to be maybe as much uncontrolled lunacy as there may (or may not) be in the one I have here. You'll notice I didn't say it was mine!
I was very selective with the level of lunacy i displayed mate ! Unfortunately i live on a little island full of haters and its very quick and easy to make yourself unpopular and get noticed.. I've heard of people getting convicted from their youtube vids, so keeping your identity on the low is a good idea mate. At the end of the day how can they prove who the actual rider was at the time, hence my little disclaimer at the end The level of lunacy is debatable really, as even tho it all seems controlled, travelling at 150mph in a 50 limit is still rather naughty in the eyes of Mr Roz
Just arrived down the van, I'll check what the connection is like and try to upload it. Can I save it for viewing anywhere other than poo tube? Here maybe?
I know someone who put his videos on YouTube, he got the 7am knock on the door and Staffordshire Police took away his computer, bike, even posters he had on his wall he had made of himself as evidence ...... Any ex Gixerjunkies members will remember this well..
I was one of the moderators for many years, the site got a cyber attack from someone in Russia attempting to obtain everyone personal details so had to be closed down
As said there are plenty of examples of people being done due to their videos. All the police have to do is ask youtube etc for your details, then your PC, leathers, helmet and anything else as extra evidence.
And how come Clarkson and such like on tv motoring programs don't get nicked, as they aren't sticking to no speed limits generally
yeah, cos there is no crime in this country anymore according to the not manipulated in any way statistics.so the boys in blue have to go hunting for it on you tube.
One option is to use Vimeo where you can set a password which is needed to view. Makes it a little safer but if its that bad I'd not post it up 'just in case' or do an edit and then only tell people you know / trust , also you can prevent it being downloaded with a tickbox. Vimeo also lets you see the date it was watched / downloaded and where from (site referrals for example)
I'd be wary of posting/sharing any videos online. This may be uber-cautious of me, but I'm taking the approach of better safe than sorry. Two reasons - firstly I work in the internet industry, and as soon as anything's "out there" there's always a tendency for it to be seen more widely than you intended. Secondly.... as a biker, I feel that my choice of speed, overtakes, manouvres etc along my favourite roads are entirely fine. If it were to be played back in HD resolution, in a local magistrates court, with some retired general and a couple of housewives on the bench, who've never been near a modern motorbike... who knows I'm sure given enough time, if someone got a decent video of what looked like my bike, my leathers, my helmet etc.... then even without reg no, something might "beyond reasonable doubt" be pinned on me.
