Hi all, just joined up here. Some great info gained already from lurking. I'm looking for a 2008 onwards blade, probably a Repsol. Plenty for sale, dotted around the country. A couple local to me.. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/261868784067?_trksid=p2055119.m1438.l2649&ssPageName=STRK:MEBIDX:IT This looks nice and clean but a few things I would like your opinions on....didn't the "sport pack" consist of a silver finish slip on akra pipe ? This one has a carbon and looks like the full system ?? Wouldn't that want for a power commander ? Also is missing the rear pillion pegs and has receipts from MST for suspension set-up and a gear indicator. So possibly has been used on track do you think ? Also has an unusual tail tidy (not R and G) with brackets... http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Honda-CBR...568?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_3&hash=item2a4fb6d4f8 This one looks like a straight forward sport or "race" pack. Repsol. Nothing unusual. Any idea what the bracket is for on the front mudguard...go-pro maybe ? I'm a bit fussy and just after a really clean bike. Appreciate any comments. Thanks !!
Before buying a Repsol you do realise they are the slowest fireblade - My advice is take your time and dont rush in, some good bargins out there its just finding them.
My bike has had suspension set up and gear indicator but has never been on track! People get suspension done for a variety of reasons not just track play! Be it for weight or speeding up the handling for road riding, it improves tyre life so more miles Most people fit a gear indicator so they don't keep trying to find 6th when actually already in 6th The akra is just the slip on and not full system from the pics as has a loop mid pipe full system is straight to end can, as a slip on it won't always need a pc
Thanks. Not in a massive rush ATM but like to be prepared with all the info as I'd like to buy the right bike 1st rather than upgrading as I go. I'm "Major" slow anyway !
Good point about the set-up, thanks. When looking about, the akra that Honda supply with the "sport pack" has a fat tapered section (cat ?) visible just under the back brake lever. I couldn't see that on the 1st ebay link so presumed it was the full...? I'm always going for that 7th gear on my FZ-1 ! Any links to mileage and services ? When are the big ones ? Thanks
Well hope you find a nice one I own the best repsol in the country RR5 picked it up in November looks like new loads of goodies on it low miles plus all the original parts with it love it
Thanks for the replies. One quick question...slipper clutch is that a dry or wet clutch ? I like the under seat exhaust models but really want an 08 onwards... This one is a bit unusual, black frame and calipers ? http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Honda-CBR...216?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_3&hash=item58c266b218
Because of the engine case colour being gold instead of black ? I think I read (maybe on here) of some dealers making Repsol bikes on black frames but I could be mistaken.
Repsols also normally have gold calipers too. And also gold forks Also the blue is normally a lot darker (could just be the pic) They only made repsols on the odd years 05 07 09 11 13 15 I'm sure the engine casings were only gold on the 08 so they don't tie in either
Quick question...if looking for a 2010 updated blade (RR A) in Repsol then you need a 2011 as they were only made in odd years...?
Yeah that's right mate odd years. You might end up with rr9 being registered in 2010 though and so on So if your the first one after 2010 will be 2011 or rrb As the guys have said Gold forks Gold calipers Silver subffame Silver frame
The first few digits of my I'd plate on left hand of headstock say sc59 mines is an 09 Can't comment on later models bit someone could have a look for you Yeah as far as I know 08 rr8 09 rr9 10 RRA 11 RRB 12 RRC and so on
A 2008 in repsol clothes......... wearing them but did nt do em in real life !! Repsol colours every two years..... 2009 2011 2013
