hi all...I have just bought a 2007 blade with 116 miles from new. I have rode the bike to the mot station and back approx. 5 miles at a very gentle pace.
the bike has been off the road for the last 7 years but was stored in a heated garage.
I am just wondering if I need to get the oil and filter changed now, or wait till the mileage is at service intervals and use the braking in oil. any advice would be appreciated. best regards

Change the oil, filter, brake and clutch fluid, and then change the tyres as well. Would also consider changing the coolant as well.

Yup,if the bikes been sitting all this time change all the fluids and filters. Check air filter too just in case something's crawled in there.

How exciting! It's a new bike! I would also stick a new chain on in case of and tight links etc from sitting.

Tyres may look OK but if they have been on the floor and haven't turned in 7 years then personally I wouldn't trust them. If nothing else tyres have improved in the past 7 years ;)

Would take you a couple of hours to do all comments yourself and nothing technical if you've soft and gentle hands and good experience gained too. Get the manual out and DIY.

when you have nine bikes 3 with delivery miles only it makes sense. he also had a fireblade 1000 repsol on a 11 plate.
the bike was on paddock stands for the past 7 years or so, so I assumed they would be ok. I don't want to get any scratches or mess with any of the wheel bolts axles etc. they bike is as new there is not a mark on it everything is shiny as it left the showroom its in perfect condition. he also purchased the factory cover, u lock and single seat cowl all still wrapped up in there original boxes. I have never seen anything like it unless it was a superbike which he has. he had 9 bikes in total including the one I bought. he has 3 top of the range ducatis which have all got delivery miles on them bought new. he has a 2011 repsol 1000 and a Suzuki 750 04 I think which are his runabouts. an early r1 with 1800 miles on it bought new and a 998r which he also uses. he was a dream to buy off, everything was with the bike inc all the paperwork from new 7 sorn certificates etc.
the chain still has the original white grease I have turned the wheel and it all sits fine, may just want slight adjustment.
