Apologies, my bad! When I say negotiate was referring to time and date for inspection and viewing, depending on how that goes collection/delivery. I thought it seemed a fair price given the amount of 'extras', mileage and overall condition. Feel free to correct me.
Just make sure you don't tell the insurance company about the mods - the exhaust and power commander... they'll only whack your premium up and you'll never get the value of it if you should (God forbid) throw it down the road!
And when they void the policy and refuse to pay any claim you will be stuffed. Pays your money and take your chances.
They won't void your policy if you don't try and claim for a nice new race system exhaust that you didn't declare, they'll just pay you for the market value of a stock bike
Last year with Bennett's a full system made no difference to my policy...PC however did. (Easily removed if needed ;-)
Some interesting points. TBH having had a look at all the modifications that have been carried out on this particular bike, am not sure if its a good thing or not now. Strange, as that was what drew e to the bike initially! Just need to get clarification on whether they were carried out so it could be thrashed to within an inch of its life, or was just wanting to be a little different! Hopefully I will be speaking to the chap today, as he has returned from his holidays!
I'll make sure to tell my relative who is an assessor that, just so he knows he is wrong to escalate such cases. They asked and you didn't tell and that gives them a get out. Apologies guys, wasn't supposed to turn into an argument. For the record, I will be declaring all the mods to the ins company as I always have done in previous years whether its cars or bikes. It is a matter of personal choice whether we do or don't, but as Barstewardsquad rightly stated, you pays your money, your takes your chances!
Not an argument, just a difference of opinions . As said declaring mods is the safest option, but not everyone takes that option, just want to make sure they understand the risk.
Right folks, hoping to speak to the seller today (been on his jollies), been a novice when it comes to blades, am asking for opinions on the spec of this bike. I think based on my research its a fair price for a bike with so many extras/modifications. Any questions I need to ask when making enquiries with him that are relevant or causes for concern that you can see? (apart from outstanding loans, Hpi clear etc). Its a 2011, black, £7k. That indeed is the one! As the seller was away on holiday when I enquired about the bike, I waited 6 days to speak to him and have my questions answered, the eBay listing subsequently lapsed. I decided not to go ahead with the purchase in the end, due to unforeseen circumstances my end. I assume he isn't making reference to me with his derogatory comments, as his situation has now changed. He is now selling due to family reasons....I was told he was buying a different style of bike! It's now a 2010 RR-A.....was initially advertised as a 2011, an error he's made in his listing I was told. 7K non negotiable.....now open to offers!
Get two insurance quotes, one with all the mods on it, one with nothing declared - see if there is much of a difference - personally I've never declared any mods, but we've had that discussion on here before! Each to their own - if I bin my bike I'd never get what it was worth, mods or no mods and my own situation is I couldn't afford another bike so I couldn't care less about getting a few quid back on the bike, if it was fucked beyond use (more than likely, considering what I get up to on it!) I'd be more pissed off about the loss than any money back on it!! Either way it's a nice looking bike, bit too much bling for me, but if it's what you want go for it - be lucky, and stay safe
