Does anyone know if the fuel pump has serviable items such as filter/tea bag? I was told it doesn't but that seems very unusual for a modern bike.

I had to change mine a fews back, but did not see anything that could be serviced on it.

No it isn't bilt hamber is..........http://www.bilthamber.com/fuel-tank-cleaning-kit

This combination of products works brilliant at removing rust and cleaning old metal fuel tanks/Jerry can.

We used it on Col's blackbird which the bike had been sitting for years and as a result the inside of the tank was corroded stupid and sediment kept blocking the carbs, after using the above combination of products the tank came up like new inside! :)

CK, most newer vehicles don't have any serviceable parts in the fuel pump (we live in throw away times!), they do still have a tea bag screen type filter to stop the pump picking up large particles but it is normally glued/fixed in place and cannot easily be removed, it can be cleaned tho but the pump still has to be removed in order to achieve that.

Yeah I took it out and couldn't see a tea bag anywhere. Just a sealed unit.

I was into this last week, on my 08 I took the pump out and there is a base attached with 4 snap together clips, when this is taken apart then the tea bag filter can be seen, I spoke with Honda about replacing it and he told me it is a non-serviceable part and that a new pump is £360 +
He also added that in his long experience he had never known one that needed changing on a blade.
Before finding out that piece of info I did find this on eBay, so I think maybe it can be done.
