Iv been trying to mount my hero 4 on the chin of my motorbike helmet and I can't figure out what mounts I need to order someone help !!! Thanks
I've opted for mounting on top of the helmet, placing the mount so that the visor still opens fully. Not yet done any high speed testing, hopefully get out next weekend weather permitting.
I was thinking about it but I like the angle of the chin, spoke to someone today and he said it was alright on the top at high speed, he didn't want it showing the clocks... Haha although he was on a s1000rr
I mount mine on the front *near* the chin. Can't mount it directly in the chin due to the design and contours of the helmet, but it works well where it is. I'll see if I can take some pics later...
Here's some pics of mine. Note: I've mounted the GoPro upside down and change it to upside down mode in the settings - then it flips the video as you record. Ignore the fact that it looks like it's pointing to the sky, once the lid is on and I'm on the bike and riding it's the perfect angle for the road ahead (see last pic) In terms of the mount I've used: Curved helmet mount (3M Adhesive pad) Quick release buckle Pivot arm 2 x Thumbscrew Anti-vibration insert 1 x tether looped through the chinstrap
Did wonder how it would look on the open road, only used it for the run to work so far and as such haven't fitted a mount to my "weekend" helmet yet. Have also got a mount on the tail and tank and the option of fitting something to a fork stem mount, but not tried these yet.
The chest harness is also an option, I have an aftermarket ebay one which sits just a little higher than the official GoPro one. These work great on upright bikes , on sports bikes not quite so good
It's not that it's bad just it's a strange thing when you're hanging of etc and it doesn't even look like you're trying Thats not good when you're thinking you're a super hero! I had one of the flat mounts fitted to the side fairing of my Gixer with the camera mounted upside down with the flipped image and it was good footage and you can see when you're right over. The view on my Gixer I can't find a pic of the mount fitted to the K3 but did the same on my K5
