I've had lots of problems but mainly cosmetic. I think the bike has been damaged whilst being shipped as it's just not right. Several areas of damage but the last straw was marks on the yoke which looked like a tool or clamp had been placed on top. The engine did sound noisy too but as other people have said it may be the norm. My new bike is coming next week after a few weeks of talking with the dealer as BMW wanted to charge my 40p/ mile as I used my bike, plus reg fee and another service which would have cost me £850 to change! It's all sorted now and will be no cost to me, just not looking forward to running it in again but can't wait to use it after that.
Well you've got an understanding dealer then. My mate with the HP4 was told in no uncertain terms that it wasn't happening. I always thought 3 returns for the same fault and you could reject the product. Maybe if he was financed up on it he could have gone back to the finance Co or something. He'll never buy another BM product.
Took some persuading but yes we got there which I'm glad about. There was no way I was paying for their mistake.
Gotta stand your ground I suppose. My mates problem is he isn't the sort to have a conversation and reason it out, he's the sort of guy who loses his rag then threatens he salesman.!
no mines was the 11 model i know the new bm has better handling now it has semi active controlled steering
I never rode the old one but they say the new one is far better. I've got the demo bike this weekend without the forged wheels and I was wanting to try it out to compare with mine which has them but it's rained all weekend
Pal got a new S1000R, starter switch broke and stranded him, he had it replaced (the switch) and a week later got told to bring bike in for a new (updated) starter switch. Guess any bike can have problems but everyone I know with an RR loves them and they have covered mega miles
