I’m not a great one for one person’s anecdotal evidence; it’s usually just attempting to confirm someone’s prejudice. But I have to report after using Castrol Power one racing for some time in the 07 Blade, I changed to Motul 300V 4T. I have noticed a difference in the gear change, it’s much smoother and slick. I do very regular changes so it's unlikely just to be Old oil - V - New oil.

Have you used it long, how often do you change it? I may give it a go, I have only used the Castrol and Motul, I only swaped to Motul because I got it cheap.

Hi Mike, I've been using it for 4yrs now, I change my oil once a year so 2-3000 miles but it is expensive £52 for 4ltrs of Pro4 Energy but I don't mind as it's the best I've ever used and the Blade loves it ;)

I buy Castrol Power 1 Racing 10W40 and change it every 3k miles or 6 months whichever comes first. Zero problems in my road going RR5.

When I got my 2010 Blade it had Silkolene Pro4 in it, my first oil change was to Castrol and it ran a lot rougher and gear change was really notchy bordering on obstructive so I tried Motul it was better but went back to Pro4 and she was silky smooth again! I then tried Pro4 Energy and it is amazing and I won't go past it now but last year I carried out an experiment I put Putolene in for six weeks to compare then stuck Pro4 Energy in and there is a noticeable difference in performance, mpg, smoothness and the gear change is transformed it falls in and out of gear!
But saying all of that it horses for courses it's what ever you and your bike are happy with mate ;)
