Selective Hearing Mode is activated by the presence of a woman... don't fancy carrying one of those around with me on the bike!

Cheers for the info. Just ordered a set. Hoping that they help with blocking wind noise but still allow me to hear my intercomm...

Been using the pinlocks for the last couple of weeks. I prefer them to disposable types which I found fiddly to get in properly and would move when I pulled my lid down. Tried the orange rubber ones with the pin in which were a bit better. Pinlocks still allow some noise so you can hear your riding buddy at the lights but block a lot of the wind blast. I got mine free with my lid so happy days :)

I have a set of the Ultimate Ear with the built in driver/speakers and they are really good. One massive word of warning though, I had my original set connected to an I pod and the end jack melted after about 10mins, the customer support was absolutely awful, had to take them to the small claims court in the end.

I use the rhubarb and custard type. They work well and are cheap enough. Just hope they don't try and talk to you in the petrol station. :):):). Assuming they let you leave your lid on :mad::mad:

I made a set of custom ones with this for £3, they work better than any pre made ones I've tried.

Charging £60 plus for a bit of putty seems like a proper rip off.

Recently got a set of the 2 pack own mould stuff. First pair were shite but the second set were as good as my pro made ones from work. You need to get the mix right in the esr canal but the instructions advised against going too far hence my first pair were crap.

I agree, the first time I was over cautious, but they still worked well, I ordered another lot of putty and am going to try again, pushing it further in this time.

Whatever works for you. For the record I was talking about being able to hear him with the visor lifted, sat at traffic lights.

I have tried the squidgy stuff, and they are good. Also i have ordered a pair from ultimate ear. A bit pricey but i am sure there are similar companies that do the same out there. Get something proper.

I made another pair, pushing the putty further in this time.

The difference is quite pronounced, and almost too good.

I took my 1000cc V-twin with MTC twin exhaust and no baffles out the other day after making them, and felt almost too detached from the experience, and the bike is loud.

They took 12.5g of the putty to make, and I can't imagine better, certainly not for the cost if maximum protection is your goal.
