OK some some idiot - that'll be me - has managed to drop the bolt for the muffler insert into the sleeve whilst aligning said bolt. So, I believe the only way to get it out is to remove the exhaust and tip it out?

I have taken the retaining bolts off and the Yoshimura plate to expose the springs, removed these but can't seem to be able to 'release' the end can itself from the pipe work, obviously I was expecting it to be tight but....

Has anyone got any tips? Any easier ways than brut force?

Yep it will be tight ... You are better off removing it at the clamp on to downpipes as then you can twist / rotate it off ...

But mask up the swingarm first as the silencer is so close, one slip and you will mark swingarm

    Wat he sed! :)

I did the same with the rubber bung on mine! Do yourself a favour and stick some copper slip or similar around the neck of the pipe which will save it being stiff next time.

Do what I did mate, give it a quick scrub around the outer edge of the boss WITH WET N DRY and coat it liberally with copper slip or similar. Mine came out easy.......thats when I pushed my bung inside the tail cap!!! DOH! :)

I suppose so. It doesn't matter anyway as it fades to a golden brown colour.

ACF50 has been applied to the collar and clamp where the Yoshimura pipe connects to the stock down pipes in readiness for the morning, hopefully it'll penetrate over night and make the job easier.

    Thanks all :)
