Hi guys, I've just seen an offer on Facebook from Maidstone Honda of a free Akrapovic and a few other bits with a new Blade. Currently riding a 12 plate R6 and have been thinking of stepping up for a while. Seems like a good deal but I'd like to know if anyone has the Akra fitted and what sort of difference it makes to the ride? Cheers Here's the offer: http://www.maidstonehonda.co.uk/pages/offers/cbr1000rr-upgrade.htm
It's a very good deal buddy, you'll be hard pushed to get much more out of a dealer and the Akrapovic is probably the best pipe out there. Great sound and looks 10 times better than the standard one. Also you won't get a ticking off from the fuzz as its street legal! I haven't bought a bike from Maidstone but have popped in a couple of times. Great bunch and I'll be getting my next bike there next year.
with Honda's great finance offers also it can only mean one thing, being the height of sales given the summer a new blade must be immanent. I wonder if the Milan show this year might give us an insight.
Exactly what I thought, but an article in the MCN a couple weeks ago would suggest different. The CEO of Honda said pretty clearly they're in no rush to get a new product in to challenge the R1, GSX-R1000, Panigale etc and a proper new Blade wouldn't be coming in until 2017. I guess we'll see in a month or two but I think these offers are more to do with a surplus of the existing Blades not selling up against the new sports bikes in the market.
Ok fair enough but I know they only produce the blade according to the market which they know. There is never an excess of blades lurking around unlike cheaper models and scooters which is where there bread and butter is.
That's a good deal. I've got an Akra on my 2014 and had one previously on my RR-C. Really good quality, look good and sound great
Had a blade for 6 months then changed it for another model, and one of the main differences was this Akra. The pipe is amazing and wish I had it on the previous bike. Sounds a lot better and you can grin at plod knowing its all legal. its wearing well too, much better than the old bean cans they make the original out of!
The weight saving on the exhaust is the main reason for fitting ,it,s like your not holding anything plus probably 2 bhp gain ,if that ,but hey small gains are good ,seem,s like a good deal.
Cheers for all the feedback guys, it's really appreciated. Went down to Maidstone Honda today for a look round and complicated things for myself! They've got a new Urban Tiger, BSB replica, an SP and standard Repsol blade all in stock! Got some serious thinking to do!
Or I can offer to save you four thousand pounds and you buy mine with an akra, seat cowl, screen and tank pad.....
In the past that was certainly the case but it seems like dealers have more stock than they used to. Keep seeing a lot of Blades listed with "1 mile" on bike trader and mcn which either means they've been pre-registered or brand new ones disguised as used.
Bought my Urban Tiger blade last weekend and it came with the Akrapovic exhaust and seat cowel. I personally think it looks brilliant and after taking the baffle out it sounds just amazing!!! I got a similar deal to the one advertised and still feels like they must of got it wrong and they're going to ask for more. Just go for it mate.
Hi, Hi, just over 6000.... I bought it brand new and been cherished by me, always garaged and serviced on the button (and in between intervals too) I doubt you'll find a better one out there, it's better than any I've seen sitting in showrooms. I don't really want or need to sell it but just fancy a change. I think I'll buy an sp1 and an older track blade.
Thanks for sharing our offer bolt84 For anyone currently in the market for a Blade, we'll also contribute £500 to the deposit for those purchasing on finance.
