Hi guys I've noticed the engine on my bike is getting loud. So loud it sounds like it's gonna throw a rod. The noise is sounding like it's coming from glthe top end. It's quite rattley. The rattle dosn t rise with revs but stays constant even when rise & fall. Bike revs freely without an issue. I originally thought the noise was coming from the air box but after some investigation that turned out to not be the case. I thought the noise was coming from the exhaust system, so removed the system (SBK ti arrow system) and re-fitted with exhaust sealant on the joints. Again, this did nothing. If anyone has any ideas/help that would be superb
Took the bike over to my mechanic today. He was saying there isn't anything wrong with it. It's just a noisy engine. I have a feeling it may be the exhaust system I've fitted. I'm gonna stick the standard headders on with a can and see if there is a difference
ive got a 2010 fireblade with 12k on it fsh and mine needs a cam chain tensioner ,could be your issue buddy,mine has a slight rattle at around 2k rpm,only on over run
As above from me mate, Marions blade was rattling like a good un and new cam chain tensioner has sorted it
Took the bike over to my mechanic the other day he said there wasn't anything wrong with it..... I'm still sure there is tbh... The bike has only covered approx 6,000 miles. Not sure the cam chain tensioner would of worn that quickly tbh It's defo noisy!!
My original CCT went at around 19k, the replacement is on its way too 7k miles later. Honda seem to buy them from the local cheese factory...
Normally they go anything around 8-12k from what I've seen. Mine been on way out... Last time I fired it up sounded like a bag of shite!! Settled down when warm.... Even went up a fair bit on noise test!!
