Bikes almost run in now and going in for first service next week. I've noticed from the day I picked it up and even the demo bike before that had have an intermittent notch when pulling in the clutch. Just feels like something in the cable just clicks or skips a little. Anyone had this and cured it? All works fine obviously and it know it's a small thing but it doesn't seem in keeping with a new machine. Tia

Hi mine feels the same 2014 model. Moved the lever slightly on the bar now feels better action. ( did brake side to match) undo locking bolt then movee lever so hand wrist and arm are in line when sat on bike. )

My 2012 does it, bike only has 2800miles on it, moved the levers as soon as i got it, didn't make a blind bit of difference, it is not consistent either, i suspect it is just a quirk in the way it works since it works fine

Might be something as simple as that. I'll look into it and see if it's out of alignment. Cheers

I figured that the only 2 I've ridden both were new and both did it. Therefore it must be common.

Its a "feature" of the slipper clutch, it was quite noticeable on my 12 bike, but less so on my 14 one.

Done it on both of mine, so I guess the outcome is that it's nothing to be concerned about. Good call though, I've often wondered, but never got round to asking...

Yep, my 08 did it and my 12, and so did the 14 I rode....... And the 12 and 14 both had the clunking Showa BPF forks too. I guess character that we grow to love (or put up with more likely!)

Mine 14 does it too ,took it to dealer today to ask why it does it , the mechanic says it should not and is asking Honda on Monday wat to do about it ,so ill let you not if anything gets done about , they will probe say its normal with the slipper clutch lol ,, also got the front end knock over little bumps on mine ,, for a new bike its not good , my old zx7r as smoother clutch and front end , but I love the blade thow , but if nothing gets done think im trading it in for the new gsx1000s naked red en black one

Before buying my bike, I had test rides on a 12 plate, and a 15 plate blade. Both had the same clicking clutch lever operation mentioned.
This now also includes my own blade.
My Local dealer who also races blades, confirmed to me that this was very much normal for the type of slipper clutch Honda use.
The clutch click is just second nature to me now.

The knocking noise from the Showa folks is a known characteristic. This has also been reported on other bike forums where the same folks are used, Suzuki and Kawasaki’s especially.
Strangely my blade does not show this noise unless I accidentally hit a pot hole.

Enjoy the blade. By far the best bike I have ever owned.

My 09 clutch is the same. I love mine too. One of the best bikes I have owned and that list includes early blades, R1, Mille R, Gixer 1000 K3 & K5 etc.

Got the 2014 HRC blade the clutch does it on mine and also the knock from the BPF it also did it on a 2010 GSX R 1000 that I had . The clutch was the same on a 2009 blade I had also.

My 10 plate did it, but my 14 plate does not, sneaky little Japs must have short cut my slipper clutch and did not bother to fit it.
