Hi, Have the Datatool System 4 Alarm.. Does anyone know how I can put this in a mode so that the alarm does not keep alarming itself? Every time I disconnect it from the battery it goes off...need to sort the wiring out...and its becoming a pain to having to keep disarming it... Also I have broken my led..the wires have come away from the led bulb...any one know if I can get a replacement and solder it to the existing wire? Thanks
Not what you want to hear Sam, but the best way to stop it arming itself is remove it from the bike and skip it. They are about as useful as a chocolate teapot.
I took my datatool off my bike as it was draining the battery in 12 hours, it was a fairly simple job to do, there was only 4 wires to disconnect. Traced the wiring back to the original bike loom and simply cut them off one at a time, securely taping up the connections with good quality electrical tape and remaking the bike loom back to original with self amalgamating tape. If your have issues as you describe then the alarm could be in on it's way out...
Ive disconnected my batt a few time to do bits and bobs. It's in the instruction manual If you scroll down to: How to remove your machine battery. This should sort you out. http://www.datatool.co.uk/PDF/S4C1-User-Guide.pdf
We had to strip out the Datatool 3 alaram on a Motorway in France last year - as it stopped working.. I had my C4 installed last year, as i needed some noise if anyone tampers with my bike outside the house on the odd occasions its left out. Not had issues so far touch wood - i do however have my bike hooked to a optimate charger and not used it for nearly a year.. lol
Hi Guys Datatool S4 C1 Red - fitted to a 2008 Blade My bike has been of the road for a few months and I removed the bikes battery - this has now caused the Datatool S4 C1 RED battery to completely discharge!!!! - now if I apply power to the bike the alarm goes ape and wont answer to the fob ??? Any suggestions ? I e-mailed Datatool - and they just said -oh your have to buy a new one and get it fitted @#&* - or pay to have the old one removed. Any help -because I want to get it back on the road before the weather (no laughing) goes to shit
When I had problems with my meta alarm I contacted this guy. He is brilliant at what he does. https://bikealarmman.com/?p=home This is his website if you cannot find the answer give him a phone. Hope this helps.
Just remove it, it's not that difficult, I did mine in about an hour. IIRC there is only 3 or wires actually connected to the bike loom and the loom isn't cut into, the Datatool wires are spliced into it. I think there are 8 or 10 wires on the datatool loom but 4 are for the tilt sensors, 2 for the led and the rest are 1 power feed, 1 into the kill switch feed and 2 into the indicators. The tilt switches and led connections should be on plugs so easily identified, so leaving the 4 to the bike, so, if you don't fancy tracing back the wires to the bike loom, you could just cut them 1 at a time and either electricians tape the cut ends up, or get a small connector block and secure the cut ends into it so they can't touch.
You should have a PIN unlock code. You can use that to disable the arm without the fob using the bike's ignition key by turning the ignition on and off in sequence. It's what I had to do with my old Datatool S3 on my previous bike. Right pain in the arse they are!
