    Hi Lads,

Just bought myself a 07 Blade and am having issues getting comfy on the machine with me being 6 ft 5.

The bike came with rear sets but they are currently on the lowest setting. A friend of mine who is an engineer is going to make up an extension bracket for me so that I can get comfier on the bike. Currently my arms are hitting my knees when I turn the bars going around bends

Has anyone done any mods in order to make the bike comfier? I come from a Streetfighter background ( Still have my Z1000 and Hornet 6 :p ) so its naturally going to take a while to get used but I was just wondering if anyone had any tips.

    Thanks!

    Dave

I have a 2011 blade so I don't know what the 07 is like to rider. I'm only 6ft 2" but found my bike to be very good comfy wise. I have added a gel seat which was worth it when I was touring Europe.

Also a Larger screen helps. Apart from that I can't suggest anything else

Cheers for that Remal. I'm not sure if the seat I have on the bike is standard to be honest! It has red stitching going through it and I haven't had any pains in me arse yet lol

Couple of things you might want to do.

Give the bike a good wash and wax, get some lighting set up, take some photos, get it sold.

Take the money and put it towards a BMW GS.

People your size have no business riding sports bikes. They're built for hobbits like me :D

That's not a standard seat... maybe it has extra padding, which is pushing you up/forwards towards the bars, hence why your elbows are hitting your knees?

Or, maybe you're still trying to ride the bike like it's an upright naked?

    I had a 2006 and a 2012 blade and im 6' 5" I rode the 2006 one no bother and the 2012.
But in all fairness I am also the same bloke that did 22k in 10 months on my 600rr no bother lol.

I had a 2011 R1 it defiantly had more room as well as my 2014 ZX10R it also is far more room with a more sporty riding position which makes no sense but its true.

Best option get a ZX10R :p more power more comfort lol

Mine is a 2005, and when I first rode it, I was surprised at how comfortable it was, yet there was still room for improvement.

I'm 6'2 and a set of Harris adjustable rear sets made the leg room perfect, adding some Hel clip ons brought the bars up an inch or so, which means I can now sit upright if I want to change position, these two things transformed the bike for me, and I can happily ride for hours with little to no discomfort.

I also found adding some tank grip to be invaluable in maintaining a nice riding position.

Could try a combination of things, some as mentioned:-
Extra padding in the seat to make it higher.
push your bum back on the seat.
Use tank grips to help keep you sat further back.
Also worth considering clipons to push the bars forward so your elbows have more room (or just cut the locating lugs off the existing ones).

I'm 6'1" and sometimes find the blade can be a bit uncomfortable, i get a bit of pain in the middle of my back and my wrists hurt but i also had this issue on my R6 and it went as i got used to the bike.

Spend some time on the bike, your body gets used to it and it becomes more comfortable, if after 1000 miles your still not getting on then look into changing some bits.

Ride faster, keeps weight off your wrist and you will have to lean rather than steer
In all seriousness, I'm 6'2" on an 08 and my backside is first to go

Has it a standard screen, lower screen will put more pressure on you body and lift you off bars at a lower speed (I'm guessing)
