Used to live in North Wales for 8 years mate. Some fantastic roads all over, but the police are everywhere, in sheep trailers with speed cameras and half way up mountains. The road from Bala to Trawsfynydd is awesome as is the Bala to Knockin road. Some fabulous sightseeing routes as well. A470 is good in places, away from towns. A5 is good from Betwys Y Coed, through the Ogwen pass and the road from Capel Curig to Beddgellert(where we got married).
You're not wrong, Megs. Spent a lot of time up there during my rallying days. My driver used to say I could only find my way around there in the dark. Once the sun came up I didn't have a clue where I was.
This ones worth look in if your in that area, fantastic on 4 better on 2 ......... Evo Triangle | Driving Roads Also ... Pass of Llanberis – North West Wales | Driving Roads
The main meeting point cars/Bikes would have to be the Pondarosa cafe on the Horse shoe pass. check out the web site loads of bikes and a few cars and bang on for the good roads depending when you were going i may make a guest apperance
We are hoping to stay away from busy or well known roads, I know of loads of cracking roads not used much but not highter up. and if this goes ahead others are more than welcome to come along
Would be good to meet up also Giv, Will leave it a month or 2 until we sort out B&B's then plan the route
The Poderosa web site seems to be down at the moment, the post code is LL20 8DR, there are always loads of bikes there. I'd be up for a meet if you get this far up, I'd hopefully be out and about anyway.
