Guys, I don't do an awful lot of maintenance, but what are your opinions on warrior stands? Anyone had a bike fall off them? Are there better stands out there? Are traditional stands better? Anyone got one for sale in the Sheffield Doncaster area?
Think you will find they are marmite, love em or hate em. From my experiences they are great, cheap, both front and rear suspension unloaded making maintenance easy. Left it on the stand for weeks without any fears of falling. Minus points, Can be an arse to set up - but this is only done once. You need an adaptor on the frame, not very aesthetic and can catch your jeans some peeps find the bike tilts to one side (mine does slightly but not too much) Floor clearance on the rear could be better to aid wheel removal. I wash the bike on mine and found the mount to suffer from rust quite easily Loads of better stands out there but most are much pricer look at JAC, abba sky lift etc. Got a few in my garage, Abba super bike stand and a set of paddocks. Mainly use the warrior, the rear paddock only gets used when the chain is adjusted.
I've been looking into buying one for sometime now as the choice out there is vast. Price varies from £150-400 (1jac, constands, warrior...) so anything goes. Most of the people on the forum have warrior stands due to their price and as far as i know there have been no accidents. I'll wait until the NEC show and then i'll buy something
I use the Abba with the front lift attachment as my garage floor isn't suitable for the Warrior. The advantage here is I can use the footrest bolt attachments to remove the swing arm which the warrior won't allow due to its placement.

Just had a look at the Abba sky lift, very nice, but far too expensive for my needs..... @Greco, do they tend to be cheaper at the NEC? (I'll be going).
Normally yes...about 10% but i wouldnt count on it. Have a look if you're not in a hurry and decide afterwards. The abba is quite good too (standard or skylift).
I use one. I find it excellent. It does look a bit dodgy when you first lift the bike with the angle but its solid. Setting it up at first took a while but the guys on here pointed me in the right direction. Wont do without one now.
I have the constands version, it does not lean to the side, both wheels come up level, I've never cought any clothing or anything on the adaptor and its very easy to set up and use.
