Yeah I'm pretty decided on a blade... From what I've read it's a more analogue kinda bike... I've sat on one and it reminds me of the size of my old 600rr. I toyed with the idea of a ducati 899, but those are a bit out of my price range. Bmw s1000rr is out of my budget (and maintenance cost scares me) the zx10r I think is too much bike for the road for me... Never been a big fan of gsxr's or yamaha... And I've always liked the blade. I'll be buying used... Seen a couple of 14 plates between £7-8k with 3/4000 miles.

Don't know if the abs problems are on very early bikes or later ones as well ? Think the abs has been around since roughly 2010/2011 ? Mine is a 13 on a 14 plate and touch wood been fine, will be 2 yrs old on March 1st
I saw some on pistonheads, autotrader mcn bikes ... To be fair I looked at soo many bikes that I may have mixed and matched the specs lol ... But I'm pretty certain on what I found. Edit- this was non and versions
There you go, search over! I've just had a quick scan through bike trader and ebay and just one 14 plate at £8k, rest are above, and most a lot above. Early £8's would be a good buy imho and you ain't gonna lose a lot of cash on that over the next few years.

Hi Charlie, no I got a standard 08 (no ABS). They didn't do ABS on this model until 2009 I believe. I'd like ABS if I could afford it as it offers another level of safety in the event of an OMG moment when you grab the front. In theory the system should apply some rear as well so the front doesn't lock and fold. So the chances of you staying upright in an OMG moment should be higher with an ABS equipped bike. However I believe that some people have experienced brake lever going back to the bar on ABS equipped bikes with no retardation under normal braking situations. But you need to investigate it yourself. Me personally I'd still go for it.
Nope issues effect all c-abs systems fitted to the blade and its baby brother since its release on late 09 models! Honda flat out refuse there is an issue with it and yet they constantly tweak the ecu software revision in a hope they can resolve the issues! As mentioned in other threads and various magazine publications but they only get mentioned once and then never again! The magazines publications won't even return follow up messages and letters with regards to anything abs related problems that they had originally written about...........one can only think Honda public relations was in contact saying shut up about the issue and don't mention it again or we will cut off access to funding/pr events and such. Can't see Honda changing the c-abs systems until there is a completely new model redesign as it would pretty much be an admission that there was an issue that they couldn't fix without replacing the whole system or significant parts of it!
I can not really get my head round that sort of thinking.............how can anyone still be happy to fling a leg over a bike that they cannot be sure the brakes are going to work as they should when they are applied or whither they are just going to fail and send you into the nearest hedge row at speed! Would you be happy to go on holiday in a plane that may or may not stay in the air mid flight? or Get on a ferry that may not always stay afloat? How long would it be before said plane or boat would be pulled from service?
Ok just been looking again... It looks like 13 plates around those figures. Like the look of the tri colour hrc ones... Stevie what's your bike? Sine... As much as I like the zx10r it's a bit too much of an animal for me..
I'd like to believe that after the VW fiasco Honda would not be so stupid as to have a braking system on their bikes that would risk human life. If they are blatantly ignoring this then they are only risking a similar or worse situation than VW. As I said earlier the buyer needs to investigate it themselves and determine the risk/reward factor.

No disrespect Singh, but you ain't been aroundheres long have you?, I totally love your faith in vehicle manufacturers to be open, above board, totally transparent and prepared to come clean and admit a design disaster. I don't wish it on anyone, but some of the things I have read over the last few years written by people who have not owned an ABS Blade let alone been through the pain of owning a faulty one, maybe just need to own a faulty one, try to get the thing fixed, try to get Honda to assist you in that goal, approach a queue of traffic at 60mph and find the right hand lever hits the bar and feck all else happens, then come back here and put hand on heart and state if you would ever buy another one over a non ABS Blade. Most peeps on here with faulty ones canned them and jumped ship to another manufacturer, a few of us stuck around and have gone back to non abs, I fully accept some owners have never experienced an issue, but it's Hondas refusal to even accept some machines are faulty is the issue here, if you buy one then you are on your own, simple as that. It's like they designed and fully tested the system in a sterile bubble and forgot it was going to be used in the real world under harsh conditions, once these issues arose, 1 bike having brake failure is a disaster but could be passed off as a one off, but multiple reports from all over the world, and every owner getting the same response from their Honda importers, I will let everyone draw their own conclusions.
As a biking and Honda community if we feel so strong then surely we should raise it with someone like Watchdog, GOV or MCN. Honda would not like the bad media especially after the VW fiasco. Can you imagine the bad press they would get if someone died and they did nothing to correct this fault. The media especially love stories like this. Has anyone taken this up with media or a government transport body? If sufficient riders have experienced this then surely we have a case to take to someone? Yes I am new to this forum so if you've already done this then I suggest you take it further as it could possibly save someone's life.
Mate, it's all been done,read the thread especially if you are thinking of buying one you owe it to yourself and family. I decided the easiest way to save a life was sell it, everyone makes their own decision.
Interesting that there is no one on here defending the C-ABS system, saying how good it is, absolutely no issues and that they don't mind paying £400 ish labour (5 hours at main dealer rates) every 2 years to have the brakes fluid changed. I've had RR8 (Non ABS), RRC (ABS) and RRE (Non ABS). I wouldn't buy another ABS Blade with the current system. If there was a conventional ABS system on the Blade (such as on the ZX10, S1000RR etc.) I would definitely go for that.
