John seemed lke a top bloke, bought my Repsol blade from Hunts motorcycles in Manchester, and John personally handed keys over asking for me to ring him in a few days just to let him no how u was getting on with it and my thoughts on the Blade
My thoughts exactly, a good business move IMO. I went into a Kawasaki dealer just after the H2 was launched, wondering if they had one, and he said no, £22k was too much to spend on stock, I thought that was a short sighted mind set, if it were me, I'd have gotten one, and let everyone know I had one.
That shouldn't bother him - the owner of that bike told me the crank on a regular Fireblade only lasts 1,000 miles in race use - and therefore I was lucky to have done 80,000 miles before my crank had allegedly failed - it hadn't failed, it was spotless with almost zero wear when it was inspected.
It could be 3k km's actually thinking about it.. I have no idea of the price to change them but can garrentee it isn't going to be cheap
As I doubt any owner will ride them, I doubt any of them will worry about piston cost They will stuff them away, or use them to draw in customers at dealerships and hope to sell at a nice profit in a few years time, with ZERO mileage
There was a dude in Moorgate who bought two Desmo's when they came out, one for commuting one for looking at... was in MCN.... used to see him (well hear him mainly) every now and then tear it down Cheapside. Class!! If i could afford one, i'd use it... Euro track day's and odd ride out. No point owning anything you don't use imo. Well apart from my NC30 but thats special to me
