Haha yeah could have come in very handy that! Will defo keep it on the road layout with voltage shown that's for sure
Not sure yet Gilesy.. Fuel indicator was on now it's off after fuel went in... Does yours stay on or off?
Fuel light comes on as part of check when you turn dash on.. Not had it low enough to test if it works yet but will keep you posted. I know yours and Art doesn't so not holding out much hope running my dash in RR8 mode
Fuel light works on my Gilesy, Arthur checked and RR4 has a diffrent part number on the fuel pump so perhaps RR4 pump in yours will sort it??
Emm interesting , will have to a bit of research on what is different on the 04/05 fuel pump, sender unit .
Well time to resurrect an old thread!! Its Winter time so some plans for the bike this year (as usual) Since the YouTube channel has gone from strength to strength Ive managed to secure some deals and make some new friends which are helping me out with some exciting upgrades. First one is some custom carbon fibre bodywork, Womble's buddy work at a carbon fibre firm who make allot of F1 and space agency parts (so top notch). He's very kindly offered to make my tail unit and tank cover (which is currently metal) in carbon. The mouds are being made at the moment so heres a quick pic of the tail being moulded Im most excited about the tank cover as currently its stock steel, so moving to lovely carbon will give a great weigh saving and also look bloody cool! He is laying the carbon so it meets in the middle and creates sort of an arrow shape down the bike, also Im trying to have my Team LCR logo converted to a solid works file so he can 3d print it and use it to emboss the logo in to the tank through the carbon (very cool). Will put some more pics up when this moves on a little, its quite slow as being done at work when he has time. Second up managed to source these badboy RCV fairings which Im going to try and fit to the bike.. They may not fit what with the blade being a fat old straight four but its worth a shot. If they fit without too much effort will get some made in carbon to match the tank and tail. Bike should look rather special if all this comes together! Bike as it is now Also would like to do some work to the engine to squeeze a few more ponies out, very tempted to put an 06 head on with some porting and cams.. But depends if funds stretch that far :-(
It will look awesome when it's all done. Are you keeping the tank as raw carbon? Would he be interested in making firings for later models? Keep us updated I can't wait to see the finish product.
Is it Creative Carbon who's doing it ??? I used to pop down to his place regularly for a coffee, he used to have a Cosworth. Will be keeping an eye on this... All the best Jim
Hi jim good to hear from you matey! No it's not creative carbon, remember him with the Cossy splitters! It's being done by a place in Bognor. I'm hoping to pop in there and do some videoing of the process and perhaps see the tail or tank being pulled from the mould. He's also giving me the moulds which is handy I'm planning on keeping it carbon if I get the fairing to match, if not will do a part painted carbon design bit like the R1M for example. Perhaps may do that anyway will see how it looks
Shane he won't do anything else he's not interested, just wanted to help me out... I'm not complaining
