i will add , is a shit job , made even special utils for that use is the same system of 600 rr , well don t need to say 600 have this issue , and never had aswell... that s mean don t put abs modulator 5 cm to headers
I have had the lever hit the bar on the baby blades as well so it does effect both c-abs models! I nearly ran up the ass of the instructors bike on the Ron Haslam school bike barley 20 seconds after I flung my leg over the thing and trying to stop at the end of pit lane! Been twice to RH and could get it to happen on both occasions on different bike numbers! The crazy thing is this has all been brought up in the various other abs threads but either they get forgotten about or ignored by newer members and the same things get brought up again and again with very little resolve as people who have never had any issues think the system is minted and stand by the system..........with the thinking of corporations don't put the bottom line figures over the lives of the public they sell there goods to! But here in lies the rub given that a rider is more likely to be badly injured in a crash than car driver so rider may not be able to let the investigators know what really happened and the chances of injury get higher if the brakes don't slow the rider down when required so rider will still be traveling at high rate of speed, any accident investigator will blame rider error and use of high speed to be the cause especially as the brakes on the bike would feel fine when checked after the incident!
Charlie I would definitely go with non abs! I'm so glad I got a non abs Blade especially when I see all the posts of the brake problems my fellow forum users have had! I have never had an abs bike so I don't miss it! My brakes feel exceptional, firm lever, real bite but really progressive and totally dependable! The best brakes I've used so far including that of a 14 plate 899 Panigale which felt wooden in comparison! Not to mention the extra cost to purchase and maintain them also the extra bulk, weight and hugger restrictions abs brings with it! It's a no brainer really P.S The Blades grunt and linear power delivery for me makes it a better road bike over the ZX10 all top end and long gearing!
So... Little update... I couldn't afford the 1000rr I wanted (which would have been the non abs model) lol Instead to get back on the road and gently introduce myself to a big(ger) bike I've ended up with a mint CBR900RR(929) ... Used to belong to a mate of mine... Had a go on it today and all I can say is it's lovely ... Eventually I'll get the 1krr ... Thanks for all your responses... I'll be sure to come back and see all the fun stuff on the forum (even though I don't have the 1krr )
Nice Bike Charlie, had a 900RR me self in the past. I wouldn't worry about not having a 1000RR as half the forum members don't even own a Honda anymore, me included!
Cheers sine yeah it's a lovely bike... Smoother and feels much more powerful than my old 600rr (obviously) but I've not opened her up properly yet... Still sorting out some security for her before I use her to go to work on or anything like that!
