Otherwise, what was your thought on the R1? Performance, handling etc I rode one recently and was dissapointed. Would like to hear your thoughts
I didn't have the bike that long ,I did around 900miles in that time the bike was faultless fast great handling and the electronics are amazing but still not blade .I will leave all that electronics to the youngsters twist and go is much better for me
Twist and go!!!.... How about swapping for my Puch Maxi if your feeling the pressure and it's all a bit too quick for you Dave!
I bet you wont be disappointed with the bike, I have it for a bit less then a year and impressions are still high. And I had a lot of different ones to compare. (Also rode a Yamaha R1M but not enough to say to much about it) Bike is easy to handle, and easy to understand. I was able to ride very fast on it in very short time Huge change came with full Akrapovic exhaust, it completely changes throttle response but bike is still normal and not wild like BMW S1000RR. Here is pic of mine bike
I have an ABS 2014 bike. Every time I see one of these in the flesh I have to have one. How does it compare?
Thanks for the thumbs up! That's my company. Only been trading for a few months and this hugger does quite well in both finishes. Got the matt one on my bike but think I might go gloss when I get my Repsol SP...
Your welcome, always like to promote good products, I've got both your front and rear carbon hugger and mudguard and more than happy with fit feel and quality, fantastic..... Keep up the good work
not fitted yet as not got bike yet but the thing looks gorgeous (if you can say that about a hugger without sounding sad!). My front mudguard has some special Red Bull paintwork on it so wont be changing that but will return for your products in the future deffo.
I went from a 2012 anniversary to an sp last March. My thoughts are, my 2012 was excellent for the road riding I do, suspension suited for my riding weight and style, in all a perfect bike. I changed to the SP as I had a one off opportunity so took the plunge. In contrast found the SP really harsh ended up getting a custom suspension set up which worked really well. Have to say couldn't detect much difference in the engine. Bottom line the 2012 bike was perfectly adequate for road use and as standard the SP a bit to harsh ( for me ) Doesn't half put a smile on my face when I look at her in the garage though. If you can , get one.
Makes sense if you have the best suspension in the business to get it set up properly for you. I will probably do this but then I might not. I'll see what it's like on the road first and then decide. I plan to track day it as well so might be a compromise on t'road.
I have to say over the last 6 months I have explored S1000RRs, Panigales and looked at R1 (cos I couldn't get a test ride - daft eh?), and settled on the SP. Partly the deal offered but partly cos it goes against the grain of all the traction control anti wheelie gadgets etc but has the right 'bling' on it. And it is a very good looking bike. And it fits me. Can't bleeding wait. Roll on 4th March. Hope it's sunny on the Sat the 5th!!!!
