Need to pick the brains of those who have fitted an R&G tail tidy, My 2007 Fireblade has an Datatool Red alarm fitted which flashes the indicators when Armed/Disarmed. My question is - will this effect the installation of a R&G tail tidy as you have to disconnect the indicators and fit them to the tail tidy. Don't know how the datatool has been linked to the bikes indicators. Any help gratefully received.
Fitted one to a 2012 with datatool alarm and no issues,it's wired in further up the loom and you'll only be disconnecting them at the very end.
Hi RRoss Thanks for your reply,will be looking to fit the tail tidy this weekend as long as my mate is able to drill out one of the Hex head bolts that's been rounded out on the rear cowl
Have you tried using a slightly oversized torx bit yet? Hammer it in and you should have a good chance of removing bolt,very popular method here on the forum and has worked for lots of folk. Drilling should always be last option as there's a chance of damaging threads on frame.
I have an 06 with the same, datool flashes when arming and disarming. I've fitted the R&G and changed my indicators for led ones, had no issues with it bud.
Hi RRoss My mate who is a exceptional engineer has got it out so all good. Now I can get on with fitting the tail tidy,also my new Titanium MTC exhaust came today so that will be getting fitting as well.
