It is a genuine bike, I was doing it up for my self, but I 2012 blade for price which I couldn't refuse. Description is 1000%accurate. I pay only 90 for insurance.
I don't doubt it for a minute but my no claims are on my Blackbird, and I still just fancy a black Blade
I dont suppose this could be an 06 with earleir fairings? Just seems odd that such a well selling bike was not registered until nearly a year later. Maybe i shall pop into dealers and have a look at log book. Would chassis number help.? Funny the dealer never mentioned!!! They must know its not an 06.
I agree with the above, that’s an 04/05 shape. I have an 04 and I can confirm the regulator / stator issues as I am currently replacing mine now haha. Not such a big job but still, it’s a pain but ah well. Can’t fault the bike apart from that. If you are wondering about Chinese fairings check the headlight surrounds, they rarely fit on Chinese fairings and have to be filed a bit to make them fit. This model does come with a different colour belly pan though so keep that in mind. They may well be genuine. The HRC is a good buy but the black blade isn’t too bad. The dealer should reduce the price a bit though. If they don’t then the HRC is the better buy as its mint and has some nice bits on it. It’s also from the forum where people cherish their bikes and keep them in good condition. At the end of the day buy the one you like the best (but always ask for a little money off haha). Enjoy.
Wise words. I may ask the dealer why they did not point out it was an 05 but I suppose they will say I never asked, lol. If I can get a few hundred quid off and check to see if the reg/rectifier (expensive replacement?) has been done then maybe it is still the way to go for some relatively cheap fun. And to be honest...would I notice the difference over the 06? Possibly not.
Another quick way to spot the difference between the rr4/rr5 and rr6/rr7 models (apart from the fairings) are that the fork bottoms are a dark bronze colour on 4 and 5 and black on the 6 and 7. The rear end of the exhaust is also different too.
This better? http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/141947347966?_trksid=p2055119.m1438.l2649&ssPageName=STRK:MEBIDX:IT
Or this less than 10k miles http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/2006-HOND...876e522&pid=100005&rk=4&rkt=6&sd=141947347966
£4,500 is expensive for 05 bike and 25000 miles,,,buy it if you like but will you regret it ? That last 06 looks good, 10,000 miles too,,umm My 09 with 1700 miles was £4,100.00 , I had to change all the items on the right hand side, I had been slid down the road, cost £650 in spares.
Hopefully a done the deal on the 'proper' 56 bike now that I linked second time. I was surprised at how many bikes registered in 06 or even 56 are still actually the 05 model when I went to get my deposit back and looked through their catalogue. Pays to do some homework, so thanks to all for their advice.
Well the deal is done. Off for a jolly 3 hour train ride this morning and a 2.5 hr ride back, so I reckon a bit of a baptism of fire. I will still either be loving it or want to sell It the minute I'm back. lol
And back with the Blade. 5 hours getting there due to signal failure at Brum and then 3 hours back with every red light in Leicester. Other than that a good ride back. Not too many aches and pains, just a really numb bum. I am surprised how easily I got used to it, well its basics. There is a slight vibration through the bars, which I remember I had on the Blackbird and a chain and sprocket sorted that. A good oiling to start with. It seems to have a quarter turn throttle. Is that standard? It also dips a lot on braking. A tweak on the damper adjustment at the top of the forks? Lots of questions now I have the bike and it sits nicely along side the Blackbird.
