I believe its a different system to that on 08-10, which had its problems. I just bought a non abs 15my as dont like abs on bikes, that said ive had a few abs bikes in the past (vfr's and 600rr) and cant say ive ever been in a position to say im glad i had it

Do your due diligence mate and then make a decision based on your research and gut feeling. Don't ask dealers, the likelihood of getting a answer that's accurate is about the same as Villa escaping relegation.

This forum is just a minuscule number of people who own Blades, and probably the most common thing you see on here is a new member who had bought an ABS, then has issues and finds this forum when he starts a web search.

Not all ABS Blades appear to suffer issues, but again those that do normally lead to a traumatic time for the owners and much hand wringing.

For the record post 12 Blade owners have reported the same issues as pre 12 Blade owners on this forum.

Ultimately, you pays your money and takes your chance. Non ABS, never an issue, ABS = Russian roulette

The other issue everyone has, if Honda have ever got to the bottom of the issues and fixed them, no one will ever know, they cannot admit fixing something they have spent 6 years stating does not exist, catch 22.

    Ditto.

Done nearly 5k on my '15 including half a dozen track days and haven't had the slightest issue. Stops on a coin.

As I said in another post, the only problem I had with my 14 abs blade was the doubt created by this site.

I've got a 14 abs blade and I've been a bit disappointed with the brakes. Having come from an 09 CBR that was running good discs, pads and braided lines the abs feels vague and inconsistent. I've just come to accept that it's a compromise of having the abs there so I'm willing to live with it. If I was racing or doing regular trackday I wouldn't be able to put up with it.

Yes it's strange how the dealers have never heard of any abs issues, I ordered and cancelled 2 sp blades because the abs problem kept niggling away at me. Fortunately a second hand 70 mile non abs came along.

Got a 15 blade with ABS. No issues so far. Brakes can be a bit spongey but other than that no issues.

I also have a 15 plate abs blade for almost a year now with no problems with the brakes.

Have a 13 plate abs and no issues whatsoever. Only niggle is that it is such an overly complicated system to bleed hence I've not fitted braided hoses with stainless fittings which I think look much nicer:)

Yeah something else to consider with the abs system is maintenance. Bleeding the brakes goes from being a 15 minute job to being a 3hr plus job and you can't just take it to any mechanic to do as its so complicated. Get air in the system and it's a massive pain in the arse.
