I'm in the middle of this at the moment and have a lot of questions for anyone who has experience in this field. If you have, can you reply so I can begin a dialogue? Some issues I have are 1) re-routing electrics, specifically the fuses and ECM. I can't do this myself, I live in Nottingham and wonder does anyone know a shit-hot motorbike electrics guy who can re-route the loom? 2) Is the radiator expansion tank necessary? Conversions I've seen seem to do away with it and replace it with a small bottle (see pic).
What year of fireblade is it ? On rr4 onwards the ecu is under the tank cover on top of the airbox and the fuses and relays etc are under the riders seat so not sure what electrics you need to re route other than switchgear and headlight/speedo which are already routed. As for the expansion tank , get yourself a hrc small bottle one from padgetts or ebay , there not expensive and id recommend running one as the coolant needs somewhere to go when it gets hot and expands , otherwise it will just keep spewing coolant out the pressure cap on radiator.
04 and I think 05 the ecu was tucked behind the right hand side fairing of the bike near the coolant overflow bottle. Shit spot that made them vulnerable to damage in a crash which is why it was relocated on top of the airbox for later models. Would look shit hanging off the side of a street fighter.
I completely hacked my rr4 loom on my bike, shortened areas as fitted the rr4 engine to a Cbr900 along will all the electrical bits and bobs. Just remove everything buy a rr6 / 7 airbox lid and relocate ecu to airbox much better design.. You may need complete rr7 airbox not sure..

Thanks Grant, its says RR4 on the rear fender under tray, but the fuses and ecm are as shown. Will check out the bottle, thanks for the response.
