What sat nav?

I already have the ram mount 1" ball that protrudes from the fork stem, but what do you use to attach that to the powered TomTom mount? From the photo it looks to be quite sturdy whatever it is!

It's only a tomtom rider mount, but with the security option as well. I've got it wired straight to the battery so the dock is live permenantly. If you want to leave the dock attached to your bike you are best wiring it into a switched live so it only comes on with the ignition. I only set up the GPS on the fireblade on the rare occasion I tour on it, the rest of the time my cradle and sat nav are on the GS.

I went for the telferizer mount, and just use my iphone... at present with the tomtom app, because I found a "windey roads" navigation option which is fantastic if you want to see some scenery and bends on your bike.

of course, they have the standard "fastest, shortest, most economical routes" options also, but so far, impressed with the odd dose of windey roads

 

I too have the telferizer ball mount and had previously been using my iPhone as satnav. Unfortunately, midway to Bordeaux using coastal roads the iPhone died and left me up shit creek. Turns out that the stem mount system we use transfers very high frequency vibration to the GPS and unlike the TomTom rider series which are designed to be rugged, my poor iPhone is delicate and died a painful death. Painful on my wallet too.

This is why I am now exploring the TomTom rider GPS and looking at mounting systems using my current telferizer. I assume the TomTom powered mount has a means to latch onto the telferizer, perhaps a ball attachment of its on the the back?

 

Yes tomtom rider 400 uses ram mount, will go straight onto your telferizer.

 

Had a few Tom Toms, found the new Garmin 590LM to be superior.

Ya also get some useful attachments in the box too but U still need to buy a Stem Mount to suit ur Bike if using this option.

Tom-tom every time for me. It does work with a Mac book pro.

 

Two years ago I bought a second hand Garmin bike sat nav, I last saw it in Germany on their motorway at 140mph, it liberated itself and flooked off, bouncing in my mirrors.
A note to Garmin users,,,,the clamp at the top that secures the sat nav has a pin each end, mine un riveted itself,,searching on google it is a common problem. check them often
