Hi all, After my '99 VFR mistakingly decided that the gearbox was an optional component, I've finally bit the bullet and will be picking up my new blade next Friday. Just thought I'd come and say hi, partly because I have no patience left and the next 161 hours are going to be agony.
Thanks all. Went up to the dealership to sign all the papers today, and have a quick test ride on the demo bike - absolutely loved it. Can't wait till Friday. Straight from the dealership I'm heading across to the other side of the country - should be a decent enough run in, don't you think? Anything I should be aware of before that trip?
Picked mine up and went out all day, came home 200 mile later. Just my Kriega 10 on the back for paperwork. You may get spare decals so may need to think about them
Weathers looking good for the pick up Nothing to look out for other than having a grin stuck on your face for umpteen miles Enjoy
I've got a US-30 to attach - had a quick look under the seat for attachment points (they seem a bit closely spaced but should be ok?) The decals might be an issue. Might end up leaving them with them until I can pick them up. Does the dealer normally fit the optional decals (ie, the number) for you? Still grinning from the test ride...
Mine was already fitted and because I got a good deal I didn't ask for the others, but I believe you should get both Pedrosa and Marquez kits. They may post them, there not that big
Great that you've got a new blade. Enjoy it. A bit different from you VFR. 3rd gear is very useable and it can become a bit of a twist and go. To run it in its best to vary your revs without caning it, but equally don't let it labour. How about posting your docs back home to yourself. Welcome to the forum.
Weather is looking less ideal now Keeping my fingers crossed that they've got it wrong again. Only 87 hours to go!
Well, first week has passed, and almost 700 miles on the clock. Friday weather ended up being lovely at just the right time. Holy crap, why did no one tell me how amazing this bike was earlier? I'm head over heels in love with it. I understand rad guards are the first thing to get?
Glad you're enjoying it Yep rad guard & also engine case covers, they may save you some expensive repairs. I've got gb racing covers & can recommend them. Check out the custom guards that jimbo''s posted in the Mods section...there's some right nice ones in there
The ones from https://www.facebook.com/RacingRadiatorGuards ? Already got my eye on them, just need to pick a design... Will look at GB racing covers. Included a photo of the bike fresh from the dealer, and ready for her first (250 mile) trip.
