Hi All, Just booked a session on my new bike at Silverstone on the full GP circuit for Thursday 29th September. It must be said that this is quite an expensive day @ £199, however it's very close to me and I've always wanted to ride the full circuit. If anyone on the forum would like to join then book your ticket at silverstone.co.uk and let me know so perhaps we can meet up on the day. It'd be good to go out on the track with some more Blades, rather than all the S1000rr's and R1's that I'm sure will be littering the track.
Having the chance to blast round that track is well up there on my list of things to do, unfortunately I live in Edinburgh..... long way away for me. One day though for sure I will make my way down on the bike.
Yeah it is a bit of a Bucket list thing to do, which is how I justified the price to myself and the missus hahaha
Hi, I did this for the first time last week round silverstone on my blade.....what an experience and what a day! Bike was amazing, weather wasn't great but it didn't swipe the smile off my face! If you can get some professional pictures do so as I have just got some and look amazing! Have fun and stay safe, and look out for the idiots ..... They are everywhere lol
Cracking track If it is a Silverstone organised event you will be fairly evenly matched on skill as you do not pick your group it gets chosen for you. Also if they are running transponders on the day then anyone who is stupidly quicker than you gets bumped up a group. If the weather looks ok i might pop along as it is only 30 minutes from me
That's good to know. I've done a couple of the BMW owners club events which are fantastically run by Robert Bensley, so my expectations are probably quite high . I've heard horror stories about poorly run track days so hopefully it's nothing like that. The chip timing sounds cool. Do you know if you can get some feedback on your laps or at least your lap times?
I've done Silverstone with No limits twice and they don't seem to care if people are in the wrong group! Last time fast was full up so around 10 of them went into novice!? They were allowed and scared a few people that were timid in the track. Going direct with Silverstone was a great move that's what I'll be doing next
Yeah, it's No Limits days that I've heard are pretty bad unless you're very experienced....which I am not
Track day was awesome by the way. Very well run. Only 3 red flags throughout the day and very quickly cleared with loads of Marshalls and well organised groups of similar level riders.
Had loads of track days with No limits, NEVER had a problem with them, very well run track days normally I did do two with Focused events, first one they forgot to bring the Chrono's to a Chrono event lol, second one was a mass of red flags on the first seesion, due to everyone trying to get a good time to get into a faster group, they had to stop the second session due no emergeny cover as both ambulances had gone to hospital with the red flag guys so we had lunch break at 10am... but glad you had a good time
I attended that day and had a good day. I was in the Red group on my CBR600RR4, in HM Plant livery. I was without doubt one of the slowest there on the day, some very quick riders about, including the one and only Troy Corser.
