did some racing...20 years ago...what's the deal with track days nowadays? Are the regs all the same with road bikes? Tape up headlights and indicators, 1 piece leathers and cable tie side stand? Or does it vary?
No need to tape up lights or indicators these days either as they're all plastic. They like you to disable the headlight and remove/fold away mirrors, but that's about it. It's all very relaxed. Just wear the right gear and have pretty much a roadworthy bike. Oh and don't forget your license as many do
The one thing they are hot on is noise, unlike 20 years ago when nobody gave a shit. So if your running a race can you'll most likely need a baffle. You can use 2 piece leathers as long as they zip together all the way round. Sent from my SM-T320 using Tapatalk
As pete said, noise it the pet hate now. I recently attended two track days, one at Brands and one at Silverstone. Both of them had 105db as the max static and 102db as the ride by. It is happening all over the UK at race circuits with locals moaning about the noise on track days. It is the future I am afraid to say.
