Hi all I'm sure this subject has been done to death already but here goes. I bought a blade and am loving it. It currently has Metzeler Racetec RR K3 tyres on. have to say they are awesome (well they did win tyre of the year). I need to replace them before next season. Just wondering if I should go for the same again or go for something like the M77's? I'm not a fan of riding in the wet, the only time this happens is if I get caught out by the good old English weather. I'm not touring either. Am I wasting my money? does anyone else have the Racetec's? what you got on yours?
nooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo M7rr.
Just fitted m7rr on mine after sportsmart 2s. Been to Brecon and back today 250 mile round trip. First impressions really impressed, bike appears to turn in quicker, seems to take the edge of road imperfections and despite mixed road conditions after crossgates stopped for a comfort break and was surprised how warm the tyres where. Overall felt more confident on the bike in this cool weather. My sportsmarts where pretty squared and knackered so this might be an unfavourable comparison.
I'm no expert, but i bought my GIXER 750 which was had BT016's on, hated the bike, felt horrible, was going to sell it. Swapped the tyres to M7rr's , different bike, I won't be using anything else.
This thread goes to show there's no "one size fits all". It obviously depends on things like: Which bike you ride. How it's set up. What kind of riding you do. What type of roads you ride. Whether you like a stable feel or whether you prefer a quick turning bike. Whether you're after a tyre that lasts or something with ultimate grip etc etc etc.
I'm just happy because my new next door neighbour has a tyre business and DOES fit motorcycle tyres so all I have to do is knock on the door, leave him the wheels and tyres and they'll be waiting for me when I get home.
