hi all - anybody had any experience with pipewerx exhausts, they seems a reasonable price for what you get?
I asked that a few months ago mate and the few that had used them seemed very happy with them, might be worth a search?
Superb bits of kit. I have one on my GSXR race bike and it is really well made, produces a good sound, but yet still falls within most noise limits without the baffle in. I see more and more people using them on the race scene which is a good thing.
Cheers guys, I've ordered a 450 to see if in some pure stroke of luck it will get me onto Castle Combe next being as it's only 7 miles down the road. Believe or not the standard can failed the noise tests this year !
I ordered one at the NEC, being delivered tomorrow so let's see - even went with a 450mm to see if it will get me on at Castle Combe !
If your standard can failed, id sadly say you got next to no chance.... Even with the baffle in I run one on my zx10, great bit of kit... As said good quality for price, looks alright and sounds good. But louder than stock that's for sure. 98/99 baffle in 103/106 out Depending on day and tester etc But that's a zx10 but id expect for similar on blade
Here hoping then eh - the challenge with Combe is the way they measure, its 1/2 meter away at 3/4 revs which lets be honest is going to be loud..
lol fingers crossed mate. tbh the pipewerx aren't loud in comparison to others, with the longer design you might get lucky
I wouldn't waste your time going mate. I live near combe and have raced and trackdayed there. The blade is in there list of bikes unlike to get through even in full standard trim, which is annoying as I've taken every other bike I've owned round combe.... One thing that might be worth a try would be to do something to keep the exhaust baffle closed. Even my completely stock 04 Zx6r only just scrapes through....
The annoying thing was there were Ducatis and MVs going round, without any van transport at the mo that's my best bet till I can sort something..
Combe is only a few miles from me aswell but you've no chance on a Blade in standard trim as the engine and induction noise adds to the overall noise level due to the exhaust being so short. I use a pipewerx can these days but never tried at Combe but it is certainly your best bet at getting through their stupidly harsh noise limits.
Managed to loose fit and fire her over today and it sounds good with the DB killer in (once warmed up), was a bit too cold to mess around in the garage too long tbh there are scrutineers at Combe on Saturday so hoping to try and get up there and see what they say - fingers crossed.
Where are you based then matey and which track do you find it easiest to get to from this neck of the woods?
Pembrey or Silverstone are probably the closest to Combe that offer track days. There's a small track at Llandow just the other side of Cardiff but it's tiny!
I tend to do mostly Europeans these days but Silverstone is good to get to, Pembrey is ok aswell but landow is a waste of time/ Donnington is only two hours drive so no biggy either, I'm in Burbage just outside Marlborough.
It's alright.....on a super Moto! Not much fun on a blade though I expect unless you want to stay in 2nd gear!

Resurrection to thread, how do you guys get on with pipewerx can at Donny or oulten? Baffle in or no baffle?
